Are You REALLY Going The Extra Mile In Life?

Hey. Its Omar. Wanted to give my fellow warriors a quick thought to ponder on today.

And that thought is simply...

Have you REALLY been going the extra mile in your life?

What do I mean about going the extra mile exactly? Well it's very
simple. After reading the book titled "The Master Key To Riches"
by Napoleon Hill and he is consistently mentioning "going the extra
mile".

What this basically means is going out and doing a little more of
what may be asked of you.

So whether it is staying at work a little later to help your boss
with something. Helping a handicap person get on a bus who needs
assistance. Or even giving someone some "extra" advice even if you may
be in a rush to go somewhere.

Going the extra mile is something that is needed in our world but most
people never follow this philosophy. ( We usually say were too busy)

You see, you DON'T go the extra mile to get anything in return.

Nope...that's not the point of it.

The reason you want to go the extra mile is because what it helps you
to become. By following this principle things in your life literally
open up.

Things in the universe start to show themselves...

Yeah I know..this might sound a little..nuts or crazy but stick with
me here!

Have you ever heard the saying, everything you put out comes back to you
tenfold?

That's because it is true! So in essence, by you CHOOSING to go the extra
mile with anything and everything you do, no matter the importance of the
task, you are eventually opening up the universe to bring some good
stuff back to you.

Now remember, you're not "expecting" anything in return but this
is a universal law.

Remember, what YOU put out WILL eventually come back to you...

So then I'll leave you with this to think about...

Are you going the extra mile with everything you do?

Good question. It only makes sense, if you put in more work you'll reap more benefits.

      Yeah exactly.

Also, the main point I am trying to make it to always try to give more in your life. I think we can be surprised with the power that we have and how we can be a positive influence in someone elses life.

Very thought provoking. I would like to think that I'm putting in the extra mile. I try to push myself every day, either by learning more or accomplishing more than the previous day. Sometimes I feel like whatever I do is not enough but I have to keep going. Maybe one day it will be enough but I guess that's my own doubts and insecurities. How will you know if you're truly going the extra mile?

I find it interesting that you mentioned "Maybe one day it will be enough".

I think you shouldn't feel that way because every night you put your head on the pillow to sleep you may feel like you haven't accomplished anything or you may feel like you aren't good enough.

Instead, try to do as much as you can each day so when you get to rest, you know you gave it everything you've got. Even if you sucked at whatever you did in the day, you gave it EFFORT. And no one can judge effort truly, besides you.

When you walk an extra mile for others, sooner or later they will run an extra ten for you.

    Good post, Omar.

Hey thanks for checking out my site. I bookmarked yours and will have a read once i'm done being sunday-lazy.

Awesome picture by the way. Noticed it on your site too. I once had the opportunity to interact with a tiger like that. Probably one of the best days I can remember. Seeing one up close is breath-taking. Petting one is life changing.

Yeah, I definitely agree on that. You get what you put in. Is just the law of life.

Yeah. It's weird how it works out in the end, but it seems to fall to the person who puts in extra. It may not seem like it initially but overtime...it usually does.

100% true. Every time I have gone the extra mile with family, friends, clients and strangers, it has been a fulfilling experience. And, looking back, it has brought me more happiness and riches than expected.

I genuinely intend to do so, Omar. Good reminder! When you go a bit beyond all that value comes flying back to you quickly, like a wild rubberband effect lol.

  • When you go the extra mile, it's usually what people remember they most. They FEEL appreciated when they see that you put in that extra effort, even though it's not really that much. I've found that simply by being thoughtful is often more than enough to make every aspect of your life a little better.

Very true. You can do a really small act of kindness to someone but it could mean the world to someone else. We really don't know how much influence we have on people.
