Not sure why I haven't shared this before, but what I do to train myself to focus, is use Lumosity. I'm sure most of you heard of it from the commercials, but for those who never heard of it, it is a site with games that trains your brain.

They are not your regular games, these are games backed by science. They train your brain to focus, be alert and help your brain work more efficiently. Everyday, you play some of the games and slowly train your brain. I have been using them for almost a year, and it works.

How will simple games help your I.M career??? it will train your brain to focus and solve problems faster. Most people fail in I.M for lack of focus IMO.

I really think you guys should give it a try, you really have nothing to lose. I am not trying to plug them in or anything, but it helps with one of the biggest problem in I.M, FOCUS!!!

Brain Games & Brain Training - Lumosity

There aren't WSO's that teach you how to focus, but there are tools to help you with this.

For me the best way to learn how to focus is use The Pomodoro Technique when working.

    Cheers,

CG man, far and away, the best approach I use. Also I'd add, simple - although at times, maddening lol - meditation. Meditating gives you laser like focus.

Slow your acts down too. Concentrate on each word, when you write, detach from outcomes, and you'll do amazing things online. Like maybe, prospering while living in paradise for 3 years, like a certain guy I know

    Thanks guys!

I think distractions play a big role in lack of focus, and even if you get rid of all distractions, your mind tends to roam and next thing you know you are on facebook or another site. You really need to train your brain or you are doomed to fail

Thanks for the share. I have used a similar program (although downloadable) a few years ago. It was Happy Neuron. But I could no longer find their full program download nowadays, probably discontinued it, but I found it much better than Lumosity. Design-wise, Lumosity is better, however you won't get far from upgrading.

There was actually a WSO that I deeply loved. It was called Mindset Optimiser. to anyone who's reading this, you might want to check it out. It's a superb product. You will find a focus and creativity track on this WSO. It's a good visualization-meditation combo as well.
