Do You "Really" Like Money? Reading This Short Checklist May Shock You

Unless you like money it will always be hard to attract or even keep.

Ironically, most people don't like money. How can I tell?

  • When they get it they don't save it!
  • They don't invest it - so it will grow!
  • They don't even go to much trouble to learn the latest and most effective ways to mange it!

But as soon as they get it they look for ways to get rid of it (spend it). Or they'll attract people who help them get rid of it.

But if you asked most people if they like money what do you think they' d say?

Something to think about.

I guess it is not so much as "like" but "need" money. After all what can one do if he doesn't have any money?

So true. As a quote i wrote for my website.
    Money is not success itself,
Money is Societies way of paying us for our successful achievements.

It is difficult to see money as an achievement unless your already making money, and people start there goals with those of making lots of money. What about your own personal skills that will make your life easier and happier?

    Thanks for sharing

Yes, this is a nice video.

Money or success at anything requires balance, growth, maturity, understanding, smarts, awareness & self confidence. It is like playing a game. Like ice skating. If you have the above qualities, you can become a great ice skater fast!

Spiritually, the way I like to think about it is what people want most is FLOW. If you have flow, or you focus on flow, everything else will come naturally, including money.

(My post here was too long, so I decided to make a new thread and link to it here. But I think you will want to read this! It has many clear explanations for LACK of money and the spiritual solutions to increase flow!) http://www.warriorforum.com/showthread.php?p=9303003

I've been blessed with parents who have taught me to save and invest my money, but not everyone has been raised that way and they don't teach this stuff in school. So, I see why lots of people have a problem with saving and investing their money, but it is necessary to learn how to manage your money in order to live a lifestyle of financial freedom.

Good points. It's baffling how these subjects are still not taught in school to any large extent. Because these are subjects everyone will face the rest of their lives. And something that could quietly sabotage or blindside them all the way into their retirement years. Yikes!

Scores of people are even graduating college in droves who don't know basic saving or investing principles. I've talked to scores of them who'll admit it with no hesitation.

it is not baffing at all .. there are a lot of people who make a lot of money off of the majority of people who do not understand money ..the government hold 1 trillion dollars in student loan debt and makes a lot of money off of it that those who have it can'yt discharge it in bankruptcy .

go back over the last hundred years of how american where turned from frygle mostly farm dwelling people who where productive..to how we where turned into consumers willing to enslave ourselves with huge amounts of debt ..

the US dollar is a currency and it is a debt note that the US government is letting you keep until it finds a way to get it from you .

money itself should flow through you .. and you should use it to buy productive assets ..as the money it self is ever only as valuable as what it can buy you today ..if today the steak you want is 3$ a pound .. that is how much your money is worth..if 4 months from now .. it is 5 $ a pound .

see most people know that cash itself is not worth holding onto..and they live in a world where it will get spent on something .

Interesting but I will disagree. That doesn't mean that they don't like money. It means that they don't like security.

People are not rational and therefore may not always (or generally) act to their best interest. For most people money is a means to an end, a way to purchase pleasure or comfort and this means that they like it. The person who doesn't like money is the one who has no interest in spending it.

I've read Warren Buffet's biography a long time ago and there was a person who LOVED money. He loved it so much that after reading all the 800 pages, it gave me a bitter sweet feeling. Here it was, a person that won at the game of money but failed at the game of life in so many ways.

I agree with your first point (the pleasure and comfort part). But that doesn't prove they like money on the deep level I'm referring to.

      .
Does that include the tight-wad, the thrifty and the saver? You're saying they don't like money? Just asking.

Money is a means to many ends.

I can save money to have more. This can be for their abstract value (money as a scoring stick) or for a bigger gratification in the future. I can use money right now, for my instant gratification. I can combine these two.

Your argument is good but this doesn't mean that people hate money if they don't save. I know a few people that simply hate money. They consider it the root of all evil.

But even in the Bible, not money is the root of all evil but the love of money (I think, I'm an atheist).

        An equivalent would be:
        - Man who love women have only one their entire life / have as many as they can / or do they simply hate them

The person who spends all his money right away loves his money the most. However, this is a topic about saving and I agree with it.

And here's a suggestion that everyone should follow ...

"Have a 3 months safety fund. Especially in IM, where things can change fast, having 3 months of rent, food and utilities can be a life saver. Plus, it gives you the guts to expand instead of living paycheck to paycheck".

This is truth brother. I used to be 1 of those people. I had to change my mindset. Now I appreciate the value of having alot of money in the bank, I see it as safety and security. Its a beautiful thing to not have to worry about a lack of money in your life.

That's an interesting complaint. Just curious, what is it you don't like about it physically. Color, texture, smell, it's weight, the fact that it's paper? What physical characteristics would you feel better about?

Feel free to answer anyone one of the above question or all of them.

      Thanks
