The #1 Thing Most Successful People Have In Common

If you are not experiencing the success that you know you deserve then I'm going to let you in on something that you probably already know.

The funny thing is, most of the time we already know what we need to do in order to get what we want.

Over-weight people know they should lose weight, weak people know they should get stronger, and illiterate people know that they should be picking up books if they want to be smarter, but most of the time we just ignore the truth.

The truth hurts, and you can see it in many different scenarios, but those who are very successful, realize that they can't hide from the truth.

You need to seek the truth and begin to live it.

If you know you need to wake-up earlier to get more things done in the day, then you have to find a way to make that happen.

If you know that you don't have the funds to generate a significant amount of traffic to your website, then you need to spend your time generating traffic using free methods.

The question is, "Are you willing to do what needs to be done even when you don't feel like doing it?"

That is what I call self-discipline. This is the one personality trait that you will find in almost every successful person on this Earth. They all have developed different disciplines that allow them to be successful in what they do.

For Warren Buffet, it is his discipline of studying the stock market for over 6 hours on a daily basis. For Michael Jordan, it was his discipline to get in the gym at least two times a day and perfect his basketball skills. For Peyton Manning, it was his discipline to wake-up at 5 am every day to work on his football skills no matter how tired he was.

You need to develop a discipline of action that will accelerate your progress towards your goals in life. Think about what actions you need to take in order to be successful and then take those actions on a daily basis. Make it a habit and don't make any excuses.

Remember: self discipline is the ability to do what you need to do even when you don't feel like doing it.

If you want to be successful, you have to be self-disciplined.

I agree with you that self-discipline is essential for forward progress and success. But it is also important to know what to focus on, finding the "right" path that will lead you to your goal. For example, say making money online is your goal. What of the hundreds if not thousands of possibilities do you choose? affiliate marketing, CPA, Adsense, SEO, website design, lead generation, solo ads, etc. It's a jungle out there. Where is the map? Where is the guide? Who do you trust? What system is really complete? Do you just stumble upon the right one? Do you try this and that and end up doing the "shiny object syndrome"? I have self-discipline but lost in the myriad of possibilities for so long. Glad that I'm finished with the Internet jungle/maze.

Well written, and true. We all have what it takes. and the know how to do so.
Do you want it bad enough? Are we willing to discipline ourselves at the levels required?

No denying that self discipline is key to "Maintain Success".

I cant agree that it is something all successful people have in common however. What about the one hit wonders? Ideas or inventions that were heard or seen at the right time had brought lots of success to some people with little self discipline. The problem struck later when the lack of self discipline brought them to bankruptcy or through drug addictions.

You're right. I changed the title to the #1 Thing Most Successful People Have In Common. I was mostly referring to people who created success through perseverance rather than luck, or being in the right place at the right time.

most successful or really successful people do not feel the deserve anything..but what they have

self discipline plays a huge part .

but it is birthed by ownership of what they have .

if you feel that you are overweight because of things beyond your control ..there is not much you will do about it ..the same with any other condition .

responsibility for the situation and the self discipline to change .

will power is not involved nor is motivation .

doing what you need to do day in day out weather you feel like it or not .. as long as the motivation comes while doing it or getting it done .

successful people get there energy from what they do
