Make FEAR work for you

Step 1: Remember the things that caused you so much pain and embarrassment

Step 2: Pick the WORST memory of pain, embarrassment, ridicule... Pick the one that just makes you SICK to your stomach or makes you break out in a cold sweat. If you can't think of one-you're not trying hard enough. All of us have these memories. Pick the ABSOLUTE WORST.

Step 3: Relive in your mind the vivid details of the worst memory. Feel its pain. Feel it in the pit of your stomach. If it isn't vivid, you aren't trying hard enough. REMEMBER that feeling.

Step 4: Next time you miss a deadline or fail to clean up your to do list, remember that SICK feeling you got.

Step 5: Keep associating FAILURE to get your act together with that SICK feeling or FEAR.

Step 6: Realize that you can AVOID that nasty feeling by clearing up your TO DO list RIGHT NOW. Realize that you can avoid those negative feelings by WORKING HARD AND SMART right now.

Step 7: Everything you do, AVOID that feeling. LIVE THAT FEAR. Do everything you can to avoid that feeling and this means:

Stop procrastinating
Knock out to do lists
Knock out goals
Achieve bigger and bigger goals

USE FEAR to push yourself forward!

The joys and benefits of fear when one knows how to use them.

This is a great list. I have started a related thread about an article I wrote. Understanding the purpose of fear and not letting the fear take over your life will help you accomplish many things.

A quote of mine: Instead of Forgetting Fear, Understand Fear. Instead of Avoiding Fear, Embrace Fear

The more you understand of yourself, the more you open yourself to success in my opinion.

I use fear and anger to fuel my actions in a productive way and it has been very effective for me. Great share.

Stimulating fear is definitely a great way to get it fleshed out. The only caution is over stimulating that sense of fear. We do have a fight or flight response. One response that is commonly forgotten is fear. One should systematically be crazy to initiate fear, definitely. Great system!

I see what you're trying to do. However if you have to go to those extremes, then there's something missing to begin with.

Internet Marketing should be a labour of love: Something that you enjoy doing.

Love can disappear. Passion can only last for so long. Fear is forever. It can be contained and managed but it is always there. Learn to profit from FEAR.

I disagree with this statement. My experience is different. For me, my love and passion and flow just grows and grows and grows each day! I have more and more to be grateful for! I don't think you have found the path of Love / Spirit / Joy / Flow as yet. But I am not criticizing you or your ideas. They may work for you and for some people. Use what works for you! That is always best advice.

If you want to learn more about my way of joy and flow, you can read my WF post here: Do you have LACK of money (or LACK of anything)? Here are the solutions! It will give you something to think about at the minimum. (This applies to lack of joy in your work also, which you are talking about.)

I too disagree. FEAR disappears for sure. I was afraid to speak in front of a camera. My passion was stronger than my fear and I overcame it. I was afraid to call my leads in my offline biz, the more I did it the more comfortable I was calling them.

Once we understand deep in our minds that FEAR is a False Evidence Appearing Real we accept it and face it as you described in your opening thread, it eventually disappears. Don't you think?

I totally agree with you! I have zero fear now! Because of the way I have been training my mind and working on myself. I have Love, Joy, Passion, Compassion & Gratitude instead! I am doing my work happily and joyfully with those energies! Life is more fun than it has ever been before! And I attracted lots of money and everything else I could possibly want.

Wow this is awesome! I've never thought about using fear to push you foward. Just thinking back on times of disappointment and failure makes me want to just work harder already.

Your fear can become your inner drive to succeed no matter what. If you tell yourself you got nothing more to loose than you already have, you will feel more confident.

Making fear work for you is like having that small voice behind your head pushing you to do something beyond what you've been limiting yourself, but somehow I’m not sure if it’s making fear work for you or simply overcoming your fears.

Fear, love, joy, passion are just "tools" in our hands. We can use all of them, or only several of them to get profit. I don't think there is one rule for using them. We are individuals, so everyone has his own strategy...

Fear can be a very powerful tool that can make or break your success. i guess using fear to prove to yourself that you can do it is overcoming fear itself and thats how you make fear work for you. same with other emotions, you use them but we should never let it take over you.

Fear is about avoiding something. When you are doing something out of fear, you are doing it in the hope of avoiding an experience in the future you don't want. As it is future based, it primarily comes from your thinking about what we think may happen, based on whatever evidence we use from our past. It is based on illusions we create. Fear can be a powerful tool to help people. What would causes stronger emotions, losing $100 you have earnt, or earning $100 from work??

Having said that, I still think coming from a place of passion and joy, leads to better actions. Its about focusing on what actions you can take today,to create the type of future you want. When you tap into that inner purpose and become inspired, the energy and motivation you get from that is truly amazing.

My tips would be, find and listen to that inner voice that wants you to reach your goal, and connect with the reason it is important for you to reach that. The path to reach there is a lot more vague, than the path of avoiding something, but it can lead to a much happier journey.

    Cheers

    Josh

I have read that if you take the most hurtful or painful moment of your life and remember it, then twist it until it's not recognizable that memory will no longer have a hold on you. This is another method of resolving the past so that it doesn't control you.

USE FEAR to push yourself forward!
    Gene,

    Excellent post!

It is interesting when you look at how many "elite professionals" use fear as a motivator....

I've heard it said several times that Hall of Fame Quarterback... Peyton Manning watches hours of game film each day because he is afraid of being "unprepared" when he steps on the field.
