Hit a wall, getting bored

So I've been in the IM game for a long time now. Probably went 6-7 years failing. Just recently I've found some success in CPA. My website is now making me passively about $400-500/month now. Not bad, but not great either. I feel I've hit a wall with it, and I've maxed out all my resources for it. Now these days the only thing I do is update it once every couple days with a new post (it's getting harder to find content for it, it's become dry for me now), and I SEO it a couple hours each day. The thing is I don't want to overload it and get a google hammer. I feel only doing a few backlinks each day will make it more natural. Eventually I want to turn this into an authority site.

Anyway. As you can see, this is only a few hours out of the day and I am getting bored.

I just now set up an amazon affiliate site (I had a little bit success with it in the past) for certain niche. The thing is after writing two reviews for the site, I got bored with it quickly. So now I am just taking money from site A every week and paying guys on fiverr to write reviews for me. Which I don't mine. I just hate the turn around time.

So here I am, twiddling my thumbs waiting for some guy to finish my review so I can post it.. with nothing to do.

I feel bored ,and I feel like a slacker and wasting my time.

I have one project which is a small success, and I can now easily maintain it. I have now started site B, but I'm outsourcing all the work on limited funds.

So yeah.. now I want to start a new project. I just don't know what to do yet.

Email marketing doesn't interest me in the slightest. And adsense is a joke in my eyes.

Is there any alternative routes? I am a very persistent person. But the only two things I've had success with was amazon and CPA, but I'm getting bored and want to try something new.

I just know for a fact I won't like email marketing because I hate writing, and always outsource it. And I feel adsense pays pennies and not worth it to me.

I like to work. I get anxiety when I don't work.

If you enjoyed Amazon, you'll definitely enjoy starting a specialized ecommerce site.

The number of niches that are available for you to dominate in ecommerce is just innumerable. There are just so many of them.

Do you have passion on your niche?

Try engaging your readers? Or generate more traffic and scale your blog even more.
There are a lot of things to such as A/B testing everything to increase conversion rates.

Use that free time to start documenting what you are doing to make that $400-$500 a month and create a product. Maybe an eBook, Audio Book, video series....? I'm sure lot's of newbies would like to start at that figure. There are tons of people who currently have an extra part time job to make ends meet and would like to replace that by doing what you have managed.

I just know for a fact I won't like email marketing because I hate writing
Get over it. You are missing out on a ton of cash.

If your working even 2 hours a day and you are only making $400-$500 a month, and your bored then you might just consider doing something else. Its probably not worth it. Oh one other thing I have noticed. You said you have been in the 'IM game for a long time now 6-7 years failing', if you have not been making money in that time then you have not been in IM at all. You have just been a consumer.

Are you serious? Where do you get off that I am/was just a "consumer"? I've never bought a WSO in my life, nor any "money making program". Perhaps that's why it took me so long to make any money, but hey, look at all the hundreds of dollars I've saved too.

I think you're probably failing too, and maybe someone in your life has put you down. I don't see where you get off telling someone who makes $400-500+/month of PASSIVE income to "do something else". Did someone say that to you?

I've been in the game for a long time. I didn't get to where I am by giving up. Trust me, I've had a lot of haters and people telling me to quit and give up.

I didn't get where I'm at by working 2 hours a day. I went from working 10 hours a day, to suddenly finding nothing to do with myself. And if you read my OP, you would know that I don't like that at all. I'm trying to find a new project to give my all on.

I don't even know why I came back here to be honest. So many noobs on WF now.

It's kind of difficult to recommend another business model to you because, while you might not enjoy blogging and/or putting up review sites due to the writing aspect, writing is a big part of being an online marketer and entrepreneur. While I personally don't like writing all that much myself, I'm good at it and will do it in order to make money.

Instead of focusing on writing, I focus on things I do enjoy: being able to make money using less conventional means (in comparison to the overall pop. that has a 9 to 5), the residual aspect that comes with most of the business models when it comes to making money online, being able create my own schedule (procrastinator here), unlimited earning potential/the ease of setting up multiple income streams, being able to share quality products that help people out...

While this may sound a little odd, I also get a kick out of setting up a new income stream and seeing how long it takes to make money from it -- like a game. If I set up a site and it takes me 12 days to earn a commission from it, I'm the kind of person that wants to learn from previous experiences in order to create another site and begin to see commissions within a week.

I think it's all about your perspective. You also have to find what motivates you. If it's taken you this long to reach the income goals you mentioned, I also think that there's a lot more for you to learn. I enjoying learning things that I can actually apply (another reason I like doing IM). Maybe finding a quality course in a branch of IM that interest you (like Amazon) will help to light a fire under you.

        Good luck,
        Joey

Yes there are, what you dont realize though is that your one of them. Your trying to sucker me into an argument calling me a nob and saying that Im failing. Normally I dont get into this to much but Ill bite a little just this one time (I guess its fair to want people to qualify themselves):

Last month I did $15,381,77 in sales of my own products and 3,694.11 in sales as an affiliate for a total of $19075.88 (more in a day than you do in a month) and Im on track to top that this month.

Now Im not trying to get into a 'pissing match' with you however I am saying that you should think before you shoot your mouth off especially when someone is trying to help you.

Further I didnt say that you WHERE working 2 hours a day. I said IF you are working 2 hours a day. Please do not chastise me for your lack of reading comprehension. You did say this after all:

"Now these days the only thing I do is update it once every couple days with a new post" ..and this .. "and I SEO it a couple hours each day" .. and this "Anyway. As you can see, this is only a few hours out of the day and I am getting bored."

So where did I get "if your working two hours a day" .. Umm you said you where working a 'few' hours a day. So yea I got that from you. You told me that you spend time working on this. But now your saying its "passive income". Please make up your mind (or at least look up the word passive).

Also when someone tells you to give up on something that is not profitable. Its not 'hating' its solid business advice. Every hour you spend doing the wrong thing is an hour your not doing the correct thing.
Giving your lousy attitude I can see why you have been failing for the last several years.

    Hi Jeffrey,

You're having a moment, and it shall pass. Try this; instead of listing out ways to make money, or channels to work, all of which are very boring in my mind - I don't blame ya - trying thinking through what you enjoy doing.

Like myself, I wouldn't think "should I try blogging".....I'd think "how can I create something really neat online, that I enjoy doing, and best represents my values?"

Change in wording, but damn does it work well. I was doing stuff for money, or to fill time, or to cure my boredom for years. Then a while back I asked this question and blogging was the answer. I wasn't trying to blog though; my creative outlet could have been blogging, or video marketing. My intent was to do something which I enjoyed doing and which would touch the lives of others.

Of course last week I got SUPER clear and created my own blog - see sig file - where I share my experiences of blogging from paradise. This is my super clear vision, come to fruition, and now I'll just do stuff I enjoy and leave the bland or boring stuff behind.

Get clear on what makes you feel alive. If all the internet feels like a drain, and has felt this way for months, consider doing something offline, which you enjoy doing. Gotta build your livelihood on the enjoyment factor or you'll join most people on earth - aka the Walking Dead - who do things just to pay bills, or avoid going broke...not the way to live.

    All the best.

Why don't you look into selling goods on Amazon/eBay? You can apply your marketing skills to this by optimizing your presentations, ad campaigns (Amazon ads are best) I found that when I got jaded with all the messing about with the technical aspects of websites and SEO actually selling good old fashioned products got me interested again - and you can make a ton of cash doing it - Jim Cockrum offers a cheap entry training product, or you can just study the Amazon website and other materials online. If you look at the figures, selling goods is a huge opportunity and it just might get you out of your rut.

You sound more like a developer to me. Everyone is not meant to manage or keep businesses/products long term. Some people build businesses to keep and others pump out businesses (and only develop them just enough) to sell them and turn a quick profit - then they're off to the next project!

Passive is boring. Start getting "active." Start buying traffic. Then scale it out. That's sure to break you out of your slacker doldrums.

Well, have you ever thought about writing your own eBook? You can just simply out-
source or write an informative eBook and sell it. You can use your own knowledge
of internet marketing and promote your website. You should try it out and tell us
how it feel about the work.
