Hey warriors,

I'm looking for a bit of advice since I know I'm a fairly young user here. I told my friend tonight that I wouldn't be doing anything for my 21st since that would be during the time I'm going to University. I'm incredibly focused on my studies and wanted to make my entire semester party free. This is my third attempt at it and I feel like I have the right philosophy going into it this time. Goal oriented, not insecure, not arrogant, simply - focused.

But then I consider how once in a lifetime a 21st is. Looking back on my life if someone asks me what I did for my 21st I don't really want to say "Oh I was studying, I gave up my 21st for my success." I'd like both, but I'm not sure if I can. A 21st takes your brain and your body down a peg and there's no way I'm going to have a mild 21st.

I'm caught a bit between a rock and a hard place guys. Share your wisdom.

Go HAM buddy. Models and bottles.

Being focused and driven is awesome, but there comes a point when your routine/job/education threatens to enslave you. Avoid that point. Find a balance. Do not surrender your freedom to anything, not even your education. The fact that this thread exists is a sign you should have a good time.

Be with friends. Cherish the memories. Live a little. That's worth more than any degree or diploma or piece of paper.

Thanks Dain, for some reason (I can't really explain why) your opinion means more to me than most.

      I will agree 100%
You are focused and on the right track. So go out and celebrate that!

You are turning 21, and going to university with studies at your focus. If you're worried about going out and celebrating, then DO IT.

I am turning 29 next month, and will never regret the social enjoyment I had. I gave me connections I can't live without. I have came across some friends of mine who focus %100 on school and have no social life at all.... Nor are they successful...

Think about life as a balancing act, and go balance it with some social fun.

        Let's hit Montreal, sir.

I have heard this from many people. Although, my attempt to experience the night scene failed when I got lost, and a french person who didn't like English people gave me a hard time and yelled at me in french. Don't know what he was saying, but I left Montreal and continued driving West. This happened before 5pm HaHaHa

I think next time I will go with friends who speak french

Glad to be of service, sir.

      Some additional pointers:
      1. At most, combine one low alcohol-by-volume with one high alcohol-by-volume. Example: beer transitioned to vodka. Example of what not to do: beer to vodka to rum to tequila to wine.
      2. Limit yourself to 3-5 drinks/shots per hour
      3. Do not get roofied
      4. Do not end up at a strip club
      5. With your first drink/bottle, get the bartender/bottle-girl's name and drop a $5-20 tip (this is so they remember your face; chances are they won't remember your name)
      6. If coherent by night's end, take a multivitamin or drink a gatorade
      7. Morning after, another gatorade + advil + coffee or 100mg caffeine (as required)

    Find the balance.

Work hard, play hard. Make sure you work hard 2/3th of the time. Remember when you go out partying with your friends that you don't need to get home 7 in the morning wasted and ****ed up. Also there, you can find a balance.

Your mind also needs play to be more productive.
