Take a chance on doing what you LOVE

We all know Jim Carrey as a comedian, but I saw this clip of him giving an inspiring graduation speech. Just a minute long and quite moving. Keep doing what you love, everyone.

Watch it here.

That's a great video and i totally agree. If you're stuck in some job you don't want to do for instance just to be safe, then that's a very bad position to be in.

So take a chance and if you really want it then you'll succeed

    Great little video. Thank You!

I just wanted to add that I saw an interview in an article some time back about Bob Barkers 90th birthday and he was interviewed by an Omg! media correspondent with Drew Carey, who is the current 'The Price Is Right' host.

Here's the part that really got me thinking...

After some previous discussion about charity work and some other things that Bob is doing now, I heard this:

"Drew Carey (to Bob Barker): You gotta have something to get you up in the morning.

Omg! correspondent (to Bob Barker): Is it easier to do charity work now that you don't have a regular job?

Bob Barker: I'm so busy, actually, that I think sometimes about going back into TV to get some rest! I loved what I was doing. I did two shows — "Truth or Consequences" and "Price" — and I loved them both. I had great fun, and every morning, I got up ready to go. I never got up going "I don't wanna go to work today." Anyone who doesn't enjoy his or her job, I have sympathy for. It's important to love what you're doing, and I did." (emphasis mine)

There is nothing like waking up each morning with excitement for the day. I know what it feels like to go to bed with dread and wake up angry because of my job. It just sucks the life out of you. You deserve more than that. We all do.

A lesser known comedian also gave a similar commencement speech recently. Charlie Day from It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia chose to do what he loved and it paid off big time for him as well. He could have had a career in Finance working for a large brokerage firm but chose to go out and do his own thing with his friends. Almost 10 years later, their show is still going and it has opened a bunch of other doors for him in the film industry.

Jim Carrey is absolutely right. Why take a chance at something you don't want when you can do it for the thing you love the most. Life is too short for us to not get the satisfaction we deserve so yes, do what you love and have no fear in doing it.

    It's okay to fail.

It's an incredible feeling to do the things that we love. There is invariably high amount of energy and enthusiasm and great achievements are made.
What Jim Carrey says is absolutely right. We have only one life and to live it the best and fullest we need to engage in things that we love!

Reminds me of the quote: "Do What You Love and You'll Never Work a Day"
sometimes we work too hard that from what we believe is what is "safe" and we forget about what we really love.

Wonderful talk. Reminded of my favorite speech by Kevin Smith when he talked about "taking your shot" and living a "why not?" life. Was focused mainly on artists, but it's something that you can apply to any other aspect of your life.
