Slow Down! Stop Wishing Your Life Away!
I love working with that topic. It’s so interesting to see patterns that everyone seems to follow, no matter their profession, situation, economic class, etc.
Most, out of thousands,
1. Treat this moment as a stepping stone to the next—a means to an end
2. Are only this or that (paycheck, deal, etc.) away from “success”—but it’s always the dangling carrot
3. Chase happiness as if it’s waiting at the end of the rainbow (the illusion)
The only time you can be “happy” is now.
No one, out of almost 3,000 in a few years, is NOT rushing through the moment to be happy. They hate the current moment because they wish they were in the next, which promises “success.”
Happiness is the illusion. One may not be happy, but at least they will be at peace.
We rush through the moment, the day, and claw for a piece of the pie.
We think that if we achieve our goals, we will be more of a person. What is success? Will achieving this or that add any REAL value to who you are? Who are you?
Sadly, it’s often not until the end when we realize that no thing ever really mattered. Nor did it add any real value.
Here are 3 great tips to facilitating change and escaping the never-ending to do list. These are proven to work.
1. Focus on the essentials. Become a MASTER of letting things go, delegating tasks, etc. If you don’t NEED something in your business (or life) right off the bat, it’s going to drag you down. The question is, what will make you money TODAY? The business cards, bells and whistles will come later. You don’t have to answer every email or phone call.
2. Stop wishing things were different NOW. Even when you achieve this “success,” whatever that is, you’re not going to be at the end of the rainbow at your pot of gold. Your learning is a process, not an event, and at the end of life you’ll realize that you’re no better a person regardless where you are in the process. So get clear on why you’re doing this.
3. Be STEADY. Consistently consistent. If you have 15 minutes per day to dedicate to the business, then make those minutes count. It’s okay. If you do focused work for 15 minutes a day, by the end of the month you’ll be surprised how much you can actually do. Maybe it’s more a question of what you’re doing?
If you’d ever like to chat, or if I can ever help, I’d be delighted. I genuinely enjoy it, and it doesn’t cost a dime.
