Slow Down! Stop Wishing Your Life Away!

I’ve recently been working with clients all over the country with time management and organization. I’ve had a TON of requests lately.

I love working with that topic. It’s so interesting to see patterns that everyone seems to follow, no matter their profession, situation, economic class, etc.

Most, out of thousands,

1. Treat this moment as a stepping stone to the next—a means to an end

2. Are only this or that (paycheck, deal, etc.) away from “success”—but it’s always the dangling carrot

3. Chase happiness as if it’s waiting at the end of the rainbow (the illusion)
The only time you can be “happy” is now.

No one, out of almost 3,000 in a few years, is NOT rushing through the moment to be happy. They hate the current moment because they wish they were in the next, which promises “success.”

Happiness is the illusion. One may not be happy, but at least they will be at peace.
We rush through the moment, the day, and claw for a piece of the pie.

We think that if we achieve our goals, we will be more of a person. What is success? Will achieving this or that add any REAL value to who you are? Who are you?

Sadly, it’s often not until the end when we realize that no thing ever really mattered. Nor did it add any real value.

Here are 3 great tips to facilitating change and escaping the never-ending to do list. These are proven to work.

1. Focus on the essentials. Become a MASTER of letting things go, delegating tasks, etc. If you don’t NEED something in your business (or life) right off the bat, it’s going to drag you down. The question is, what will make you money TODAY? The business cards, bells and whistles will come later. You don’t have to answer every email or phone call.

2. Stop wishing things were different NOW. Even when you achieve this “success,” whatever that is, you’re not going to be at the end of the rainbow at your pot of gold. Your learning is a process, not an event, and at the end of life you’ll realize that you’re no better a person regardless where you are in the process. So get clear on why you’re doing this.

3. Be STEADY. Consistently consistent. If you have 15 minutes per day to dedicate to the business, then make those minutes count. It’s okay. If you do focused work for 15 minutes a day, by the end of the month you’ll be surprised how much you can actually do. Maybe it’s more a question of what you’re doing?

If you’d ever like to chat, or if I can ever help, I’d be delighted. I genuinely enjoy it, and it doesn’t cost a dime.

I always have this incorrectly because of this focus on the essentials in business.Financially or career is bad. My life good because I let the finance or career go. But this brings to the equation of survival.
How can i focus on the essentials in business building without making me focused on the trivia of business?
I do see it sometimes when I get the great moment at WF to implement on the internet but once it comes to business execution i really need a whole load of confidence.

      YHmuWong,

That's a great question. And if I'm not understanding you correctly please let me know!

What most people do is let their business accumulate too much MASS. No, this is not good.

When a business develops too much mass, and no return to justify the mass, the business becomes a burden, and overwhelmed, one quits and the biz fails.

What I mean by this is that they spend too much time on everything BUT the one thing they must do to make them money. Things get too complicated because it's ingrained in their mind that it MUST be complicated for one to be successful.

Once you make your first dollar, the rest gets easier because now you KNOW it's possible, and then the confidence comes. The question then becomes How do I make more?

Each thing you do must be directed towards income generating activity. If it won't lead to that, it will add to the mass that will ultimately leave you frustrated and over the whole business thing.

Many sit down and have no PLAN for their work to optimize productivity. Time=wasted.

For those that are in survival mode and just entering the business world I would recommend the following steps (just my personal opinion):

      1. Don't quit your day job. You have to keep the lights on and food on the table. Sure, it's all about the faith it will work, Law of Attraction, yada yada yada, but reason is still required. Those with kids will understand. Keeping their bellies full is important.

      2. If you can, reduce the day job hours (only if you can). Or else, set aside some designated time, no matter how long (even 15 minutes!). This is your time to do only income generating activity (focus on the essentials).

      3. Once you are generating some coin, recycle that coin into a small fund. It's the "exit strategy fund." It's some cushion so you can help your business grow enough to leave the job. You won't worry so much about the biz if you've got the day job. Once your biz is generating enough you can develop a plan to reduce or get rid of the day job to concentrate on the business.

If anyone has questions, give me a shout. I hope this was helpful.

There's really nothing else I can add. This was perfect! I loved what you said about letting things go that don't benefit you in any way. Let those small things go. Stop worrying. And be happy where you are. Take time to laugh, smile, and do the small things that bring you joy.

      internetmarketer1,

It's interesting because I know so many business owners/marketers who work more hours than they would at the corporate job!

For me, I have to wonder why they pursue anything "greater" at all. For most, this greatness simply the subconscious desire to me "more than" so to feel a greater sense of self-worth. But it's not about greatness at all. It's about being happy, right now, as I type this out.

It's about accepting this moment just as it is, and not wanting it to be any differently--not wanting to be more or better. And if we approach business in this way (trying to be of service) rather than get any particular place, we'd be better off.

I remember the day when I had only $7 in my bank account, thankfully many years ago. I also remember March 2013 when I was on, what I thought was quite possibly my deathbed, and I'll tell you what, I didn't give two s**ts about work. I would have done anything to sit on a park bench or just take an evening walk again--to SLOW DOWN.

It's all about the freedom for me. Today, for example, in about an hour, I'm going for a walk around a pond probably for hours. That's what this is for!

Thanks for the comment, have a great one!

      Ryan

Yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery. We only have today. The present. A gift of 24 hours to do with as we please.

Tomorrow is already here. Today was yesterday's tomorrow so live in the present. That's all you can ever do. Never wish your life away.

You are right on with my issue.I tend to collect those mass by time. Even the money that I get from a paid job i collect negative mass. But strangely,if i stop collecting and start doing.Things works out. I just can't focus the right things at the right time but my given ability ;- is strong mental Focus.Skype or private message would be fine. And yes;- guilty of charge of being the kid that quits day job.I don't want to but I had to.

I think, instead of Be Steady, its more of being consistent in moving forward.
personally I like to take things slow because i believe that things don't come as you wish it.
