Getting In The Line Of Success

Something I have learned and continue to learn is that achieving success or becoming the top 10% in your industry is like stepping in line at a buffet.

In order to get to the good food you have to stay in line.

With success you have to make a decision that you are going to succeed with your goal and that is getting in line, once you get in line and move forward it comes to knowledge and skill. Keep educating yourself in your area with knowledge and skill and you will move ahead and eventually become the top 10%!

Happy learning,

Thanks for sharing. It's true, the journey doesn't actually begin until you make a decision which is just as unmovable as your decision to go to the toilet because you're busting. The only part I'd adjust it so that instead of being in a line (where your progress is determined by the speed of the people in front of you) I'd adjust it be like going from point A (making the decision) to point B (your goal). That way, your speed of achievement (if that's important to you) is determined only by your own actions (and attitude) and not by what anyone else is doing.

this should be elevated to status of legendary success quote ..

but as i found out 3 weeks ago having to deal with a line when you are busting and trying to get in the bathroom ..is very very very much outside the comfprt zone .

if you are going from point a to point b and many others have done it ..there is a path or line you can get in .

now from the first line of the op

i think the proper image is that maybe 10 percent of people or even few ..realize there is a buffet ..the other 90 percent or more are waiting for the scraps from the tables .

I'm definitely the most legendary person in my office...as to how far that extends beyond these walls remains to be seen...lol

I hear what you saying about following a proven and beaten path though it can often be a lot easier if you model a successful person or formula though I'm sure we'll agree that it's not essential.

I still think the biggest problem is in people's definition of "success". Being in the top 10% of anything is 100% irrelevant and immaterial to my success. I personally have specific, well defined and achievable definitions of success and they come way before I get to the top 10% of my field. In fact ultimate success for me would commonly be considered an abject failure by most people and yet I'd be thrilled, excited and satisfied.

I'm convinced we (the whole world) need to re-examine the definitions of success and the point at which we're considered to be wealthy and rich. It's a whole thing with me. I see success all around me but these people are oblivious - thinking they're not a success or wealthy when they really are.

      This.

You might look like the mini-knock-off of whoever you follow...but that will go away as time passes and you will have your own personality if you will.
