    I agree.
    EFT is fantastic.
It might look a bit strange at the beginning but it really works.
I've been using it for 4 years with great results.
    I recommend it to anyone!

I tried EFT before but it did not really helped... Now perhaps I shall try again I was using it to overcome my fear of walking down slopes.

How long did you tap before you see any results?

Definitely go to the site and download the manual and study it before you try again! I say that because there are subtle things you may have been neglecting so it didn't seem to work.

The first few times I tried tapping it didn't seem to do much for me, but a couple of years later I was reintroduced and decided to try it again - and was BLOWN AWAY at the changes I could feel in myself. Truly amazing stuff.

Since then I've bought all of their DVDs and have been studying them and tapping for many things and continue to have incredible results.

Like IWebGirl said, it's awesome for releasing negative emotions and fears that might be holding you back - whenever I do a tapping session for anything I end up feeling so much clearer and totally energized.

Now *I* sound like a walking advertisement...LOL But it's just such an incredible process that works for so many, many things.

EFT is an excellent technique. Maybe you did not do it correctly. You should be really specific when framing your setup statement. For fear of walking down slopes, write down 5 or 10 memories or incidents when you felt this fear and work on each incident separately. Then check out the results.

EFT is absolutely amazing! I use it on myself and in my coaching and have seen some great results.

The negative responses in this thread are normal. I believe that EFT works for EVERYONE, it's just that some people have some blocks to it working, because there are some strong secondary gains ("what is my gain if this does not work) or they are just reversed (too much negative vibrations). We have been taught thoughout our lives that we have to be "careful" when going into new realms. But in fact the judgment you have about some one else or another method is just a judgment about yourself. Once you get this awareness, it's a great tool to use, in order to reduce you ego and open up the channels to receiving more help, abundance and love.

so, the conclusion is: EFT works for every one, it just needs to be applied correctly. It's like an art. If for example one does not remove his reversals and secondary gains BEFORE tapping on the issues, this techniques won't work.

I would also agree with the benefits EFT has. I still receive the EFT Newsletter and I would recommend it to all.

I am wondering if anyone has purchased the DVD's that go along with the EFT system.

I have been thinking of getting them and would like other peoples thoughts.

      Have a great evening,

    Iwebgirl,

Thanks for that, I downloaded the manual and will read it later.

I use Acupuncture on my animals and am really interested in alternative therapies.

Started looking into this a few months ago but got sidetracked - better do some tapping to cure my problem of going off at a tangent - lol.

Also, are the DVD's really helpful. I have wanted to get them, just have not been sure. Which of the DVD's did you find most helpful.

Have you ever done a session with another person or have you always done them on yourself.

EFT has been around for 14 years now, and there still isn't any clear evidence whether it works or not.

One would think that something this revolutionary in terms of healing would spread like wildfire.

I wonder why isn't it happening.

Many people reacts like you do. It is because people don't belive you can be healed without taking medicine or talk to some1.
Strangely hospitals try to suppress these kind of thing because that would be a huge money lost if all people would do like this.

Actually it IS spreading like wildfire. First it started only in alternative health circles, but now is quickly moving into the mainstream. There are many doctors, psychologists, therapists and other professionals using EFT as a complement to their own formal training.

                  Hi Moving Ahead!

I just snagged some fairly well-known names from testimonials on the EFT website for you: Norm Shealy, MD - Deepak Chopra, MD - Eric Robins, MD - Daniel J. Benor, MD - Candance Pert, PhD - Bruce Lipton, PhD.

And these are just a tiny sample.

If you go to the website EFT Home - World Center for EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) and enter PhD or MD into the search box in the left column, it brings up dozens of articles by professionals and their experiences in using EFT with clients/patients.

I don't know why there's not much info on Wikipedia, maybe because EFT still isn't considered a fully mainstream modality? Or maybe no one has bothered to take the time to write something up? I can only guess. But to me it doesn't matter because I've seen the power of this technique myself - with or without Wikipedia!

                  Hope that helps!

        Hi Thom!

What had changed was my own willingness to give it a fair shot. (Honest confession there ) I think the first couple of times I tried it, I did so halfheartedly and didn't bother to study the manual first so I wasn't really tuning into the heart of the matter. When I was reintroduced to it, I had a chronic problem that I was desperate to resolve once and for all so I gave the tapping much more of my attention and effort. Huge difference in results!

The DVDs are priceless in my opinion. I bought all three libraries: beginner, intermediate and advanced. So far I am almost through the first library. There are approximately 8 DVDs in each library, and each DVD holds hours and hours worth of video footage (they used to be sold in VHS format).

They have been so helpful for me in understanding how and why EFT works so well, and one of the things I enjoy most about them is that you get to see real people using the technique on real problems live.

The first DVD has some moving footage on Vietnam war veterans using EFT to ease post traumatic stress disorder - some of these guys suffered from persistent insomnia, anxiety and panic attacks, inability to go out in public because they had constant flashbacks of the war, etc.

Within minutes many of them were able to completely dissolve the intense emotions caused by their traumatic war experiences. Some issues do take longer to resolve, not all of them are "one minute wonders" but it's amazing just how many of them CAN be cleared so quickly!

On some of the other DVDs you get to see people clear intense phobias to things like water, snakes, spiders, etc. And of course clearing addictions like smoking and chocolate.

I can't recommend them highly enough because while watching all of these examples, you get to see the way Gary Craig (EFT creator) approaches various problems, even when it seems like no progress is being made, and the things he can do to finally get to the heart of the problem and dissolve it for good.

The DVDs do have a money back guarantee - I just checked on the site and it's a 6 month guarantee! That should be enough time to decide if they'll be helpful to you.

And no, I'm not affiliated or connected with Gary Craig and his website in any way. LOL I'm just a huge fan.

        Hope that helps,

        Wendy

You couldn't be more wrong if you tried, and you haven't got a clue what you are talking about.

EFT is an extremely effective technique that has worked on hundreds, if not by now thousands of people on many different situations. As an energy healer, I include EFT with my clients as one of the many modalities I use and get excellent results from using it.

Now it's interesting that you are touting EMDR as it is very similar to EFT, both of which use tapping and eye movement as part of the process. That said, I've had clients go to an EMDR person and then come right back to me for treament because, in their experience, the EMDR didn't work.

As with any form of healing, YMMV and it all depends on how much you really want to heal yourself. The more you do, the faster and easier any good technique will work.

PhD or not, testimonials from the official site are biased opinions and prove nothing about the effectiveness of these methods.

I couldn’t find any good websites about EFT with a casual Google search. I’m hoping that people like you who use this technique regularly - and are having success with it - could point me to some sites where I could learn more. Because I’m still not convinced that it’s gaining widespread acceptance. I’ve yet to see some independent research being conducted on the effectiveness of EFT.

The official site just has too many over-the-top claims which are not backed up by anything.

Ooops, sorry, that's not what you said in your original post, you just asked for some names of professionals who are using EFT in their practices. As for independent research, I honestly have no idea who may or may not be doing that, so I won't be able to help there. I can only offer my results from my own experiences, which have been great so far. (But of course I would be considered biased... )

EMDR is used to treat Trauma - often serious trauma.
You can read more about it here:

I downloaded the free EFT manual some time ago and on a "gut" level it made sense to me based on other techniques that I've found effective.

      Hey,
      I am amazed
I did not expect such a major response.
A big hug to all EFT enthusiasts.

If you feel EFT is not working it is often that you are trying to accomplish too much too fast. It is best to start with something of little importance like it annoyed you to have to wait so long at the post office. EFT is quite precise and you can get results fast but it is best to start with small successes and build from there.

EFT is more a process than a one time cure. I absolutely do not care if it does not have any credential. It is an amazing thing.

      Let me explain why.
Just imagine that you have this major emotional blockage in your life and you decide to go see a shrink. After months or even years of regular visits to your psychotherapist you finally understand why you have this blockage. What do you do with that information? Nothing. Psychologists say you can learn to live with it. Who wants to live with a blockage, a fear, a repressed anger, anxiety, shame, guilt.... I don't! Do you? What if you did not have to? What if you could flush this stress out of your life for good?

EFT changes everything. Not only it will take you just a few days to get in touch with your emotions thanks to EFT, days not months and once you know what's been blocking you, you can use EFT again to remove every aspect of that emotional blockage in just a few weeks.

I am sure there is at least one or two people on this forum how have some sort of success related emotional blockage that is pushing them to constantly procrastinate.... If you're one of them, boy! would not you love to get rid of that?

EFT can give you true freedom of defining who you are as a person independently of your past. Who has never felt like "I want to go home", "I want to be my true self again" or "where did my dream go"... EFT is making me feel in touch with my true self like never before. It gave me hope like nothing else that I could achieve my dreams and be my true self.

I felt I could not do everything alone so I went to see an EFT practitioner. It is amazing what you can achieve in just 3 sessions.

If one day you find yourself in depression, PTSD or in bankrupcy and you turned your back on EFT, I hope you will remember this message, the IWebGirl and give EFT a second chance.

EFT forum at emofree.com is a wonderful place to get free advice from professionnal EFT practioners so don't let a bad first impression keep you from getting the most out of EFT.

      Take care,

      The IWebGirl

I am always keen to find practical ways to help my clients heal and grow, and often it is the very questions that clients raise that prompt me to seek out new approaches or solutions. This was certainly the case with my discovery of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). One particular client had asked how her partner, who was an otherwise very successful businessman, could overcome his anxieties about public speaking. It's not an illness or a disability, and yet can be very limiting. We can understand rationally WHY we have a certain problem, and whilst understanding can be very useful, it does not necessarily lead to resolution of the problem.

EFT Tapping still is a highly unconventional method and yet it is completely safe, being based on balancing the natural flow of the body's energy system. Sometimes the technique works incredibly fast, sometimes it requires persistence.
What are the anxieties that are holding you back from living the authentic and rewarding life that I passionately believe we can all live? And this is not just about having more or accumulating more, it is about being more.
Just imagine what you could be if you could get rid of this stubborn headaches. Just imagine being free from these exam nerves. Just imagine having the courage to say what you really mean, and feeling OK about it. The list is endless and you will find examples that are relevant for you.
Allow me to share with you this technique which I have found profoundly helpful in many cases, both with myself and others, in reducing if not eliminating anxieties and pains.

I am a student of pyschology and spirituality and not a just
an intellect on it, but put in the practices everyday.

I tried EFT and I did get results. But it wasn't for me.

No doubt it will be great for some people because we are
all different and respond to different things. So because
it was GREAT for someone else, doesn't mean it will be
    for you.

The Sedona method worked GREAT for me, but for a few others
they couldn't really get results from it. Usually it has to do
with our resistance to a particular method.

But once you understand the basis of all these methods lead back
to pyschoanalysis, and disconnecting the emotional stimuli that
gets discharged when a reoccuring thought in our subconscious
    surfaces.... well

Then you can create your own techniques tailor fitted toward
    yourself.

I created my own proccesses that repogram myself that work
10 times faster than any of the other techniques I've tried. From
NLP, to Tapping, to Subliminal tapes, etc...

In fact once you really understand what is going on you can clear
deep pyschological scars up in a few days or weeks tops.

You are all on the right path. Glad to see so many are taking
    the time to understand themselves.

    Peace and Blessings

I'd love to give EFT a testimonial but, it is a placebo nothing more.Which means it works sometime.

I've tried the EFT before, and it didn't seem to work...BUT, for some reason today I decided to give it a try again since I've been super stressed out, and it's been working incredibly. Maybe it's just a placebo effect..but, who cares?? Whatever works, right??

Thanks for making this thread IWebGirl. Being a Massage Therapist and Alternative Healer I had come across EFT a few times before and had meant to look into it but never seemed to get around to it.

It has been recommended to me though by a few people I trust very much and with that, added to the comments on this post, and the perfect timing of it all in my life right now, I will for sure be checking it out.

    What a great gift! = D

      Hi,

I have an in depth video where several EFT therapists went into a
Veteran's hospital where some veterans had been FIVE years in
therapy for post traumatic stress syndrome.

In 24 hours they did what 5 years hadn't and they had follow up
interviews 3 months or 6 months later.

These are guys that were struggling with enormously violent memories
that kept them from sleeping, caused nightmares and all kinds of
      issues.

They tapped through them 1 frame at a time.

So here you have guys working with professionals for 5 years who
got immediate and very dramatic relief.

I ALSO have on video a guy who had a phobia of water for 20 years and
had gone to therapy for it.

In 30 minutes he was in the water full submerging. They worked through
      it bit by bit.

These videos are available on ebay. They are the advanced course.
      I think it's $297 or something.

Yes they are anecdotal and not double blind.

But you know, when you're IN a verterans hospital with guys who have
been there 5 years and in a 24 hour marathon session you're able to
get them to a point where they can LEAVE the hospital and in 3 months
to 6 months later they are still "ok" that is pretty dramatic proof.

Also, you can try it on YOURSELF.

I PERSONALLY did tapping on the memory of a girl I had a crush on in
      the 7th grade.

The NEXT DAY on my FAcebook was a message from the girl I obviously
hadn't seen or heard from in what? 30 years.

If you are on my Facebook you can see the message on my wall
      yourself.

"Are you the Marlon Sanders who left me chocolates and roses in the
      7th grade?"

You can call that coincidence or a placebo. Whatever.

You can try it on YOURSELF on memories you tried OTHER therapy
methods on or on physical pains and see for yourself.

Hey, if it's a PLACEBO, who really CARES?

If you can resolve issues or memories or problems that other forms of
paid therapy couldn't and you can do it YOURSELF for free in relatively
short time spans, who CARES if you don't have double blind proof?

And actually, there ARE some pretty decent research projects that have
      been done it.

I know EFT since 2004, In that moment was very easy to contact Gary Craig and get help direct from him, My wife and I started to use in that time, EFT was and still is very helpful, We transalate many many article to our website in Spanish, we got a huge amount of positive feedback. As a personal experience help me a lot with stress, bad habits, beliefs from the past not make sense, weight loss etc. I saw many people with psychological problems with great results. My 2 cents : )

This is a great technique for releasing blockages. It's painless, you can do it yourself easily and best of it all it works. My therapist introduced it to me
and anytime I discover something that I'd like to improve about myself, I just follow along with the diagram I have. Within days the modification sets in.

Definitely worth learning and applying toward self improvement.

I watched a DVD on EFT by Dr. Lee Pulos. This is something I am very much interested in trying. I'm going to integrate it into my personal development plan & I'll probably post an update here in the future.

I have an extensive background in hypnosis, and EFT is effective IF YOU BELIEVE IT IS. There are tons of other techniques out there that can be just as effective, you'll just need to find what works for you.

Tapping on pressure points can help "relax" you (at least make you feel more relaxed), however, it looks pretty ridiculous when you're doing it to yourself. If someone that didn't know what EFT was and saw you tapping on your face, you'd probably say, "What the hell are you doing?" haha.

There are basic principles in hypnosis that are universal one of which I will share with you right now.

    Here it is: RELAX.

Not much of a secret, right? Relaxation will allow you to get into the "ZONE" so that you can perform at your highest potential. Athletes do it all the time. Effective executives do it. Anyone that does what they love to will get into the zone. One of the keys to getting there is just to RELAX both mentally and physically.

Just like anything, relaxing takes practice. The more you do it, the better you get at it.

So, if tapping helps for you to get into the zone to get rich... tap away!! Just remember that there are 1000 ways to skin that cat.

    Best,
    - Mark Nouveau
