They say "Time is Money", I disagree!

They say "Time is Money", but I say if that was true then, the statement: "Money is Time" should also to be true... but it's not! Why?

Because the statement 1 = 1 is true and when you turn it around, it looks like this: 1 = 1, the same thing, therefore, true. This is not the case with money and time.

Therefore, for those who believe time is money, time is not only not money, in fact, their time is not even time, it's not worth anything, it's valueless.

Furthermore, their money is, of course, not time, so their money is not even really money because their money has no value. Why their money has no value? Because they do not value their money according with truth.

Is there such a thing as money? Is there such a thing as time? If your answer is YES to either or both of these questions, are you sure?

You've got the law of identity wrong.

    A = A, true, when a thing is a thing in itself.

But money and time are not the same thing.

Money is a tool of exchange.

Time is a tool to quantify the state of existence of any living or non-living entity.

Time is money IN THE CONTEXT that time can be translated to a financial value. Time is money for the person flipping burgers and for the CEO.

For the first one, $7/hour, for the CEO $500/hour.

You've made so many logical errors in your small speech that my head hurts.

And yes, there is such thing as money. It is a resource to translate your effort for the effort of others, driven by pseudo free market causes.

And yes, there is such a thing as time, even if it only represents movement or decay.

so you agree with me! But then, why your head hurts? It shouldn't.

you should only say that if you can define what "Time" is. I don't think you can! You say:

so you are one of those who think they can "quantify the state of existence"? Now I understand why your head hurts!

Both are illusions, but we have to treat them as real because we have made them real.

It is 5:23pm pacific standard time at the time of this writing. This is our system of measuring time (differentiating between different points during the day), even though in reality the only thing that "exists" is the present moment. Try to live in the future or past. The only thing you can come up with are projections of the future and memories of the past. The present moment is the only "real thing" here.

**There is heavy debate in the philosophy world about whether time can be attributed to a single point in space or whether it should only refer to relations of present moments (5:23pm then...5:30pm now) so the definition of time matters a lot here**

Money is even simpler. It's our agreed upon form of value exchange that we have within our society. If we all agree that it has no value (the paper and coins we carry as currency) then value exchange as we know it doesn't exist. It might take some other forms (trading shells, gold, silver etc) but the illusion lies in the value inherent to the object: the paper and coins. This is created value, perceived and agreed upon value. Just like time this is an accepted illusion.

I never really cared to compare these two since they're both dependent upon definition to gain any traction. If you disagree about how someone else defines money or time you can just project your own definition which they then disagree with lol

People just want more of each; always and forever

In this scenario I always imagine it being like a unicorn meeting a ghost...and both questioning whether the other is real lol

Time is the fourth dimension and a measure in which events can be ordered from the past through the present into the future,[1][2][3][4][5][6] and also the measure of durations of events and the intervals between them.[3][7][8] Time has long been a major subject of study in religion, philosophy, and science, but defining it in a manner applicable to all fields without circularity has consistently eluded scholars.[3][7][8][9][10][11] Nevertheless, diverse fields such as business, industry, sports, the sciences, and the performing arts all incorporate some notion of time into their respective measuring systems.[12][13][14] Some simple, relatively uncontroversial definitions of time include "time is what clocks measure"[7][15] and "time is what keeps everything from happening at once".[16][17][18][19]

Money is any item or verifiable record that is generally accepted as payment for goods and services and repayment of debts in a particular country or socio-economic context.[1][2][3] The main functions of money are distinguished as: a medium of exchange; a unit of account; a store of value; and, occasionally in the past, a standard of deferred payment.[4][5] Any item or verifiable record that fulfills these functions can be considered money.

you take a figurative and metaphorical statement and try to turn it into a literal logical fact .

time is money .. is a figurative concept they are not literally the same ..or no one can prove as a fact they are the same .

but in the society we live in time can be turned into money and money can be turned into time .

if you expect me to do something valuable for you which takes my time.. you best be ready to hand over some money .

or if i have spent 20 years perfecting my craft .. you best be ready to pay a premium for my time even if i only spend 20 minutes with you .

In our last breaths I doubt any of us will be saying that we regret not working more! I think we will regret having worked so much! Not an excuse to be lazy but spending time with family and loved ones is worth a lot more than money!
