I am looking to have an app built for a client. Does anyone have any recommendations for an app programmer? I'm not sure where to find one.

That's pretty vague. I would suggest that you go to freelancer or elance and check out some of the mobile developers there.

Your best bet might be to check out some of the freelance websites and look for a developer who may be able to help you. Be sure to check reviews and such before jumping in and making any payments but I am sure you could find someone reliable and trust worthy who can help you.

There's definitely lots of developers on oDesk and Elance, but be careful if you choose to hire on there. You really do get what you pay for when it comes to mobile development. When I was running my own company, we'd often get clients, that had hired from said sources, and because the quality was so poor, needed to find someone more skilled to get the job done properly. That said, it is possible to find good developers on those sites, but it's not as easy as it sounds, and it could end up being more costly if you choose wrong. |

Odesk & Elance is best but i think you must consider craiglist as well. I know lot of mobile app development companies in los angeles but i suggest you to go for a local Canadian company.Mobile application development is a painless process & need lot of brain storming. Search for certified app developers in your area and talk to them. Cost for an app starts from 3000$ to 150k for a complex project. Wish you luch for you app development project |

Create a profile out there on freelancing websites like Upwork and Elance. Mention the specific category and post a job out there. You will find really good freelancers and agencies over there to get your work done.

It depends on what kind of app you're looking for, from that on you can start searching more specific and get the best result.

Really depends on your budget. Highly suggest creating a specification proposal of what you're trying to accomplish with the app and its functionality and then heading over to UpWork.com and making a listing. Agencies are preferred over individual developers in terms of speed and reliability of the final product. I've had the best experiences and value with agencies from Russia and Eastern Europe. Look into the top 2-3 listings with regards to hours worked/projects handled and see if you can get them on Skype for a consultation. Good luck. |
