With the rapid progress of technology, the world of information and business is also changing. As opposed to previously, everything now has gone mobile. Users do not want to restrict their access to their computers and want to enjoy mobility from anywhere. Mobile and smartphone technology has made all this possible. You can be flying to a different location, walking or moving in between places, and still be able to access information through your phone or tablet.

Digitization has created a whole new world for people. Every day a new app or piece of technology is launched that presents upgraded features or a variety of options to users. You can watch videos, movies, chat or listen to music on the go. Previously, people could only access the internet and download information on their desktops. That is a bygone though nowadays. In fact, a lot of people do not even use their external desktops anymore and prefer to interact only via the mobiles.

While the relevance of the desktops cannot be contested it can be safe to say that mobiles and smartphones are the premium way of communicating and accessing information. There are hundreds and thousands of apps which allows people to perform their day to day functions without any hassle.

As businesses are coming to realize the importance of applications and mobile software, they are changing their way of targeting the consumers. Advertising is no longer restricted to banners, pop-ups and web pages which are designed to fit only the desktops. Businesses are capitalizing on the opportunities that mobile marketing has opened up and reaching out millions of users every day.

According to various reports, an average person spends around 30 hours on their phones every month, and the user ship is expected to exceed that of computers in the coming two or three years. Experts say that mobile marketing is also more effective and beneficial than the traditional ways of marketing. There are SEO tools and options like push notifications which can allow companies to communicate with their customers at any time and from anywhere.

Making the Switch
While the possibilities of mobile marketing are endless, business still haven’t explored them to their full potential. In order to switch from desktop to primarily mobile, these entities need to realize that consumers are going to be more responsive towards mobile-friendly layouts and designs.

There are still some companies which have not focused on making their web pages fit for mobile or invested in apps. The case for mobile optimization has never been as strong as it is today. Statistics in 2015 showed that mobile only users exceeded the desktops ones for the first time ever. This means that if you have yet to capitalize on mobile marketing, you should be directin all your efforts towards that. Here are a few ways to make it easier:

- Create an app.
-Optimize your web page for mobile friendly features.
-Be flexible in design.
-Personalize layout.
-Push notifications.

In essence, there are very few differences between mobile marketing and desktop one. The SEO techniques remain more or less the same, however, you know have the advantage of mobility and portability.

The purpose of the switch is to enable your desktop theme to be viewed on mobile devices and vice-versa. It does not really handle url redirection and, to do so would likely cause user confusion.

Is there a particular reason you want to accomplish this? Perhaps the WPtouch Home Page option will give you the experience you're looking for your visitors in terms of seeing a different home page on mobile devices.
