naming my app

Hi,

Im about to launch a new application (its already in production stage ) and Im now considering the name for it . there are two types of subjects I can include in the app name one gives you a lot of relevant apps (soon to be my competitors) when being searched - and the other has a little bit less searches but none of the results on google play/app store are relevant or will be competing with my app.
Will naming my app with the second option key word in it give me a better chance of being ranked high on the results of this key word search (or maybe the name doesnt really have that much with the search results at all and therefore my considerations should only be based on pure marketing and not ASO )

Thanks,
R

The name you use on your app should signify what the app is about. For example, my startup app is called "New Hyre", which is a video resume app for employment. When people see and hear the name they understand its something to do with getting hired or hiring someone. Same as iHeartRadio, people know its something to do with radio. Now on the keywords section you should add keywords your competitors use so you can be found like the would.

At the end of the day you will still need to get downloads and reviews from your users to get up in the rankings for iTunes or Google play store. Hope this information helps you out!
