I go to elance. I put up a SOW (statement of work) screenshots I made. Ask for bids....it is free to start but the providers give you a lot of info.

What kind of app are you looking for? Also, is it just one app you're looking to have built or do you want to be able to build more apps on an ongoing basis? |

I use Bizness Apps, but when I was searching it was a toss up between BA and Seattle Clouds. The first year it was difficult finding the right model, but I realized that putting 50 people on the phone on a power dialer wasn't the solution. Most that we called needed an upgrade on his/her or company(s) website first. We find that out of every 5-10 apps we sell weekly that 2-3 of them want a re-design of their website first. It was tough at first, but Andrew (CEO of Bizness Apps) is sincerely a visionary and his platform is awesome! The other item was to not look so much like them with our front-end and so I moved my designer/developer from my radio media agency over to my mobile app/marketing company. It's not easy and you need support, but the best advice I can give anyone is hire someone that is a guru with Photoshop, make 100-150 calls per day and conduct your due-diligence before the call. |

I've developed my own video course on how to build iPhone apps through Outsourcing. https://www.udemy.com/how-to-make-an...h-outsourcing/ I plan to release it as a WSO sometime soon, but am looking to give out a few review copies first. Have you checked on any freelance websites and posted your order and let people bid on it such as elance, freelancer, vworker (now owned by freelancer), and peopleperhour.com to start those should get you plenty of bids. The other option is to post in the programming section here on the website and let them know your budget in advance, if you want native language, and full description of the application. |

It is a 2 year old thread but anyway, do check elance.com and odesk.com, you will find good freelancers there who are have the portfolio to show. I have done some work with them and from my experience, stick to those who has a good portfolio to show and avoid going cheap. Search Quora.com as well as I know some really good development companies are hanging out there too. |

Yeah - oDesk is a good option for most. Providers are kept honest due to the feedback and rating system. Just make sure you look at many providers and interview them all through the messaging system before hiring. |

I recently received an offer for a training course that claimed to be able to provide details where you could get apps created for around 50 bucks, (I hope you did not buy that course) I have followed those kinds of info App creator courses and found that you get what you pay for mostly... But I also found that there are some "vendors" that intentionally target this market and bid on projects at an inflated rate, the idea is that if they "catch" one of two projects at the higher rate they can then proceed to "Scalp" the poor guy or girl that wanders into the net. It is like a mine field out there and it gets harder to find real sellers that are providing real services. I would advice caution when dealing with service providers that bid high and low, the best services I have ever found were on Odesk, but it took me a long time to weed out the good from the bad providers. Most people if they find a good provider are not going to share that guy or girl out, simply because it takes so much time to interview and to locate good providers, the best advice I can give anyone is to get out there do the interviews, use email, avoid phone interviews, (they usually dont work well to identify a good provider anyway) do the leg work or in this case finger work and create a step by step spec, that defines exactly what you expect from your service provider. Most of the problems you see in this industry are communication issues. |

Rather than find a company, I'd rather find a great developer. That way, you can define exactly what you need and work with someone closely to get what you want.
