This thread is to explore mobile marketing techniques that drive calls to your business. The assumption: You have a mobile app that is searching for local business with-in a geographic area; taking into account the CELL PHONE GPS to drive data based results. This is really becoming a big "OUT OF THE HOUSE" activity. Before mobile or with 411, people would search at home. Or call 411 in the local area looking for a service or product. I find that google delivers different results base upon the mac address of a device and the users statistical information they have stored away. This is why most people say they are listed on Google first page. This is false however. Google can not drive the same results everytime to each person on every search. Only 7 business; or a few more; would be listed all the time. With round robbin and mac address/ip statistical information, Google will send you results it feels are important. How do you game this to drive mobile search and mobile sales....or mobile walk in sales? |

Although Google does alter it's results based on a variety of factors, the basics still hold true. You want to have strong on-page optimization on your mobile site and build solid backlinks. From my understanding, Google primarily alters results based on location, so for ranking local businesses you still have to get them in the rotation. -Ben |

Not true. I am surprised at how many people want to create web eco systems to build hits. A simple service that can build and release your information into the proper databases will do a great job.
