Wow! This threat oughta be in the Warrior hall of fame! Beautiful stuff. Amazing stats a couple of pages back. It was hard to sort out the green graphs, but it looked like crackberries are taking a bit of a popularity dive? That so? |

I almost want to apologise. Looking at the great websites I've taken my eye of the ball and not started at all. I want back in! It's such a great opportunity for marketers and if I (We) don't take action then I'll be kicking myself for a long time. It's so great to see the wonderful sites Warriors are making "thumbs up!" If this question has been asked here before, please excuse me but I was pondering this a little while ago. When a website is visited by a mobile phone user and they are redirected to the mobile site, like Grimaldi's how can you ensure the mobile phone doesn't revert back to the mobile when you really want to visit the main site? Thank you Brian |

I have to agree totally with your view on the notion that apps are the way forward. There is such an importance that has to be placed on any business large or small having their own presence on mobile as the growth margin for each business using mobile along side the web is tremendous. Apps are a tool for enabling a quicker use of a particular source and will never take over the search engine optimised mobile web page

Hey Stewart, Your sites looks clean & professional however I slowed down on the Opening Hours page. I see that this page could be utilized far better as well as it looks inconsistant with your other pages, more like a stock photo and repetitive content to fill up the page. My suggestion for what its worth, is to have something like your photo again, as you are your brand, then Open Monday through Saturday 9.00am - 7.00pm. Click Here to call me ...etc Just my 2cents worth. All the best Gary |

These sites are not created by me. This thread is just for people to share any mobile websites they come across. It isn't their official mobile site. I just created an example site for that business.

One more question. Can you share what setting you use for CSS? I mean how do you build it? I tried to play with CSS but didn't get shrink effects. My small idea for you, make some WSO course (?) I'm sure many will jump on it ;-) Adam

Hi all! I read, mostly, the first part of page 1 of this thread, so I might be talking old stuff. It was mentioned that Mobile Apps cost a lot - how much is a lot? It was said that you must have an app for each type of phone. It was said that mobile websites are better and can be used as a mobile app. --- One mobile app will work with iPhone, Android and html phone - the exact same app, and work perfectly with them all. Yes, folks Do use their apps to locate local businesses - Why? --- Because local apps will offer discounts and daily offers not found on a website/blog. --- Mobile apps have "Push Technology" that allows a business to Push a text message to all who subscribe that have an open rate of 97% vs. email which is usually around 5% to 10% max. --- Contests and frequent visitors get discounts too. That is just the start of this local apps revolution taking place. The web will always have its place, but mobile is where it's at for local businesses. Everybody takes their Car Keys, Wallet and Cell phone whenever they leave the house, not so with their laptops. QR codes will be displayed everywhere shortly and folks will display then in their store windows, their counter tops, etc. When "Miss Shopper", (pardon the gender stereotype), wants new shoes, she can find bargains for just that day - or just a few hours a day (during low traffic days), just by looking on her smart phone, (and only for Smart Phone Users). I can put any form or optin on an app that can go on a website Anyway - enough rant - time is the best teacher here. Jim Furr ><> PS: Mods, I am not trying to hijack this tread for online apps, I am just attempting to clarify any misunderstandings about Mobile Apps. |

What's your cost? Does the user have to download the app? Does the client own it or pay monthly? It doesn't look a heck of a lot different from a mobile site. What would be the extra features besides text push? Thanks...

At some point, it's expected that HTML5 will be advanced enough to allow push notifications from a mobile website. I prefer HTML5 for my mobile sites whenever possible for that very reason. It will be interesting to see how the field evolves, and how quickly, for sure! |

Here's a mobile site for a new customer of mine. I just purchased Quentin's new Wordpress CMS WSO to try it out. I changed the button graphics to 3D which was super simple in Photoshop. It was very easy to set up in Wordpress and Quentin's videos explain a lot. I haven't even watched them all yet and still got this far. So my mobile arsenal includes. 1. Two of Quentin's WSOs. One as regular HTML and other as Wordpress CMS 2. Will's WSO with his super fast and super easy template (looking forward to the second one). 3. Joe Motion's Mobile Business Plus WSO which is another mobile CMS offering. So I think I can pretty much cover anything a client wants. From quick and simple, to more complex, to even handing over a complete CMS site to them. |
