Tap/Click to SMS?

Is it possible on a mobile website to create a tap to SMS button or link that will populate a text message with a short code and keyword so the user just has to hit send?

I think Lime Cellular is the best white label SMS marketing platform.

I would advise against doing it since this command is not recognized by all popular smart phones eg: it does not work on my 1 year old Blackberry. That is why you will find most mobile sites do NOT have that function integrated. Click to Call is another story and something that is universal across all popular mobile phones.

I tested click-to-sms on a mobile site, and I found that Apple only recognizes the phone number--not the message. So, you can trigger the iPhone's native SMS app and pre-populate the phone number, but you can't pre-populate the message.

Did you ever find a solution for this? Just Asking.
