yes you can - however it may effect your mobileOK or mobile readiness report depending which layout you use... but it should still work fine and function fine on a smartphone...

best thing to do is set yourself up with a test domain so you can try stuff like this out - i find thats the best way to learn if you can or cant do this type of thing

Better to do it on a test site than a live clients site!

Hope that helps

You sure can. Aweber gives you two different types of code - a simple javascript code or the proper html code. On a mobile site you are best off to use the proper html code. As Jay mentioned however, you will need to make sure all your form elements validate properly.

There is a tool that takes a regular aweber form and makes mobile optimized page from it:
Mobile Monopoly Squeeze Page Generator

PS:
I am not affiliated with that site but thought the tool is kind of neat.

Call Center Fuel - High Volume Data
Delivering the highest quality leads in virtually all consumer verticals.

As I mentioned in another thread, ALL that tool does is adds one line of code to your page:

<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, minimum-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=2.0, user-scalable=no" />

You don't need to use the tool just add the line of code above and your page will then stretch to fit the different sized screens of mobile devices.

only thing i dont like about GetResponse is they use !important tags on their css styling code!

which means it will ignore any css styling you may have in your own styling sheet... or in plain english it makes it more difficult to style the mobile auto-responder forms to fit in with the rest of your sites look

have been using wordpress with my mobile sites recently and have my own custom css to override the css settings only works with icontact and aweber though since they dont use css important tag styling

I dont use any of the generated code from Aweber or GetResponse other than the form method info and any listname and tracking ID info and works fine with my custom CSS.

Exactly.

I don't think I've ever used the code that Aweber spits out - there's no need to and it just limits what you can do. I much prefer to create my own web forms exactly how I want them to look and then I just take the important parts of the optin code and add them into to my form. Out of all that code Aweber gives you, you really only need about 3 or so bits of information and you can then use any form you like.

For those of us that are new to editing HTML. Can you show us an example of the code that would remain and the code that would have to be removed so we can customize it.

Newbies PM me if you need simple answers to simple questions. Don't waste too much time figuring things out (being lost) when all you have to do is ask for directions. TweakingWP.com

In the head section of the page where you would put all your other meta tags like meta description, meta keywords, etc. In between these tags:

<head>

</head>
