Question for Quentin
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Quentin: A question about the link you posted to Onbile - Free mobile website templates. (I posted this in the 'Best Mobile Software' thread, but you didn't reply, so I'm reposting here with a few more questions that were not included in the original thread.

Here's the link to the original thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/mobile-m...-software.html

Two things:

1. What do you mean by the term 'mock-up'?

When I checked the site it looks like you can copy and paste a link in to your existing website. If that is so, then I assume that a mobile version of your website will show up automatically when someone accesses the site with mobile phone?

2. If it's that easy to create a mobile version of a website - why bother with hiring someone to do a special mobile website for you - or use any Wordpress plugins, templates, goMobi sites, etc. Or, why bother trying to establish a mobile website creation business at all? If anyone can just create a free version, why not simply do rather than create a stand alone mobile site?

What am I missing here? Help me out... (and not by asking 'how did you get in? )

Hi Val

A moc up is siply a saple of what their site will look like usually the front page.

Everything in the business world is about adding value.

For example you can get coupons to get a free Coke Cola, If you go to a supermarket you can buy a big bottle of coke for say $1 however if you go to a restaurant they will add value by putting it in a glass and adding ice and charge you $2 for half as much.

Go to a club and they may charge you $3 because they provide entertainment while you drink your coke.

The thing is there are a lot of reasons to create a mobile website for a business customer so they can be accessed by mobile users.

Most businesses would not be using the free services because they don't have tie or any other number of reasons such as branding etc.

Hi Quentin,

How do you create a "mock up"?

Do you use some software or just a graphics program?

Is there somewhere one might be able to find a video that shows you this process?

Thanks...

Yes, by the way, I AM in the Witness Protection Program. I could tell you who I am but then I would have to kill you.

You just create the front page and upload to your server then use something like Mobilizer to create a graphic to send to your client.

Mobilizer | Springbox

You can also add it to a simulator like Iphone mobile simulator emulator
