How To See Google's Mobile Search Results on Desktop?

How do you see on a desktop what search results are being returned by Google for those using a mobile device? Apparently there is a 86% difference in results between desktops and mobiles according to SE Rountable.

I own just a basic cellphone and don't use it for going online.

Thanks!

you could use an emulator like Mobalizer that should give you mobile results.

Thanks Quentin. Had a look. I think it's for simulating what a site looks like on a mobile device. I'm after somewhere that would allow me to do Google searches from my desktop, giving results as though I were using a mobile device. If that makes sense.

I've read that search results are ~different~ depending on whether you're using a desktop versus mobile device.

Jason Fladlien and Wil Mattos are coming out with WP themes specifically for mobile devices. That means I can build sites specifically for mobile devices. Hence I want to see what kind of competition I'm up against 'mobile site-wise' ie at the top of the mobile sites search results.

try this in your browser address bar - its googles non-smartphone search

    Code:
    http://www.google.com/m?q=enter your search terms here
alternatively just change the useragent of your browser to a smartphone useragent such as iphone or droid and then go to google and do a search on google - it will pull up the smartphone google search

typically with google though it places a cookie telling it you are a mobile visitor and its sometimes difficult to revert back to the default looking google search page - if thats the case simply delete your cache and cookies...

    Hope that helps

    Hi Max

It is not a simulator but an emulator that works like a mobile on your desktop. I had a look myself and it does automatically load google mobile search.

Just type in the mobile url like "m.", or ".mobi". The difference will be obvious that you are viewing a mobile site in "desktop view". Here is an example you can try on one of my mobile sites: http://m.webtomobile.net. Hope that helps.
