SMS Text Marketing ~ What Are You Charging?
Share on:

Yes.....I'd like to hear from some of you on this

I do SEO for local businesses + FB Fan Pages. I offer Mobile Text Marketing to the them as well. So far I have 6 clients (for Mobile) and they pay $100 bucks a month for this service. Included is 300 free texts and the overage fee is .045 cents per message.

They are all small businesses: Restaurants, Salons, Liquor Stores, etc.

Am I too low? Too High? Right on the money? Oh yes....I do not charge a set-up fee either....I probably should.

Thanks for you time.

Mike

Mike,
We are recommending to the consultants and warriors who use our platform
to charge at least $197 a month at a minimum. I would recommend $297 and up.

Why give away the golden goose? IF the value is there, clients will not only pay, but
beat down your door to pay you for your mobile expertise. I do think your overage
charge is way out of whack... We are billing clients at 2.4 cents per text on overage
and a little less if they are big players.

Plus.... Charge a Set up Fee... You will have incentive to really help them launch on a really good platform in a really good way... Make em get some skin in the game...

Good Luck...
Regards,
Robert

I sell for $125/month and I give 3,000 free texts as well as 1ยข texts. My profit comes from the $125/month. It doesn't really cost me more than a couple cents to give them my service. They pay what I pay for texts, as well. I could charge more for texts if I really wanted to profit.

I also charge a $67 set-up fee. This covers any initial costs that I could possibly have.

$197 is outrageous. For this price you're pretty much raping the businesses. I feel like it's way too much. But then again, if I wasn't obligated to charge less than $150 in order to beat my competitor's price, I would probably charge near $200. BUT, it's still wrong, haha.

I too believe that $100 per month is underpricing your service and yes, you should charge a set-up fee.

You must consider what your client is spending right now to get traffic to their establishment. They are spending MORE using other means and getting LESS return for their money. Their ROI is much better using SMS and MMS text messages. They have a MUCH better read rate then any other advertising method.

You are supplying your client a service that is better than any other advertising method out there that gets people to come back to their store . This is targeted. These are opt-ins. These are people that said YES, I want this product!

You may have heard it said, "The money is in the list." This client can now take this opt-in list and market to them any time of the day with any product for only pennies per person. This opt-in list is worth its weight in gold.

They can not do this with radio ads, television ads, newspaper ads, or phone book ads. These are all shotgun methods and are not working any more. SMS and MMS is targeted.

You can charge more than you are doing.
