That's not competition at all! I admit I'm relieved.

Clearly they realize there isn't a one-size fits all approach to this and that's why the are not trying to offer one. Good on them!

Wow the agency guide and the mobile meter.......we should thank google for giving us these tools to help us convey the message but also be aware folks as the competition for clients is about to get real like the SEO game is.

OMG thank you google, thanks a lot. now this makes it much easier to convince a client who has no idea about mobile websites, that they really need a mobile website. Hey, GOOGLE said so |

There are now TWO GOMO endorsed companies selling mobile optimized sites for a dirt-cheap monthly fee and the other based on pay per visitors. Somebody please figure out how we can become an approved vendor!!! If not, why are we better than dirt cheap companies? Somebody? |

CPAmum...I am the biggest worrier on this forum, haha. With that in mind we can mostly relax concerning GOMO and the approved vendors. There are many reasons why, already mentioned and here is some more: 1. Yes one service on GOMO is really out of the box with the pay per views model.I do not think this will have traction. I do not think it can be explained very well or easy enough for the the business owner to understand. 2. Yes the low ball company is about $80 at the lowest option [pay for year up-front]. Umm that is still $80 a year, every year, forever. Blow that up by confirming you are charging a one-time only fee, that will SAVE the business owner money over time. "Mr Owner, I know you do not want another monthly bill coming in, do you?" |

If someone finds a business owner, in the next year, that has heard of any of the vendors featured on GOMO, I would be shocked. We know, because it is our business to know.

Here's a tip... Try their 'tester' - it's very good but once you get a score then take a screenshot of the score and mobile emulation and mail/email to prospects. Just be sure to cut off Google's branding. It looks awesome. |

Interesting, for sure! G has a lot vested in getting as many sites mobile as possible. G's making a lot of money from mobile searches - but they can't do that effectively if people searching from mobile devices are clicking OFF sites that are not mobile. The faster everyone becomes mobile, the sooner G can implement all their plans for making $ on mobile sites. Most businesses have no idea what G is doing, or that they launched HowToGoMo. Provide a great site with good service, and you'll get all the customers you need, imo. |

I wonder if GoMo will eventually provide certification or specific agency training the way Google Engage did.
