I know this is not the answer you're looking for, but - Build custom sites! i know everybody loves the idea of templates, but do you really see the future of the mobile web as 10 million identical-looking sites? That don't really do much of anything? That's not going to happen. It's a phase, really. All these template sites, these sites that all look like iPhone apps, that all look so much the same. It won't last long. Businesses, people will want more. You are doing your clients a disservice by not giving them a solution that suits their business and needs. A custom site allows them to carry their image over to the mobile site (simply switching colors and the logo on a template doesn't cut it). It allows them to have the functionality they need. You are not leveraging the true potential of mobile by only having a click to call button and a map. Google Places already does that! Give more, earn more. I know this is controversial here, and no disrespect intended to Quentin or Will or any of the other people that contribute good info to this forum. Just my point of view. |

That is what makes this forum awesome is that everyone can and should be able to state their own opinion and others should respect that. We are all here learning and growing together. We are bound to think differently as we all are different. I hope others welcome this thought as well ....... it allows new people to see whats out there and weigh each and every option. Thank you to everyone who jumps in and adds a good piece of advice and opinion to a topic.... |
