Mobile Affiliate Marketing

Hey, I own a few affiliate websites, unfortunately none of them are in the top 10 yet.

However, when I researched my keywords in Google's keyword tool, I noticed that around 44% of the searches come from mobile phones!

I've been creating mobile websites for offline businesses, but was wondering if creating a mobile site will favor me SEO wise for my affiliate websites.

If I build a mobile website, will my original website's rank go up? Or only the mobile version's rank? I'm kind of confused.

Thanks.

It's funny you should bring this up. I was going to ask a similar question today.

I was wondering if a stand-alone .mobi site, set up as a lead-capture, cpa or affiliate site would rank well enough for mobile search to be of value? I was thinking of testing this, but perhaps it's already been done, and didn't want to re-invent the wheel with research, so to speak.

My thought is that a good web-standards compliant .mobi site might do pretty well on search if it's properly optimized and seo'd like any site should be - and .mobi tld's would most likely be available for good keywords.

It's worth trying, I think.

I don't think a mobile site could hurt you at all, so why not just do it regardless? If the mobile version of your site functions off of the same domain as your original site, then I believe it would only have a positive impact. I say go for it and see what happens.

I'll put my two cents in -- Do it.

Mobile has not even come close to emerging yet. If you see 44% of your searches through mobile devices, then create a mobile-friendly version of your site. Remember - monetizing can be done through simple tactics. And adding a mobile version of your site can only be more appealing to those viewing your site(s) through mobile devices.
