HI, I was wondering what you guys think about creating mobile websites with Wordpress vs. other CMS. It seems that there are lots of new WordPress themes coming out for Mobile and it’s definitely tempting especially for someone who’s already familiar with WordPress, but – is it a good idea? WordPress is a blogging platform, not a mobile website platform. For one thing, you have to take care of the hosting, and then there are all the plugins that you have to install and then keep up with technology. If you have, say – 50 sites for clients, that's a lot of sites that you have to keep updating. On the other hand, there are lots of other non-wordpress CMS’s out there that promise a lot but are not very mature yet. They will probably grow and add more features as time goes by, but still – they are the ones keeping up with new technology and updating their main software so that your sites (hosted by them) works without you having to keep updating them. So – if I wanted to develop a good mobile site right now, which direction should I choose? Anybody knows of a really good, mature CMS with lots of features and templates? Thanks! Dee. |

I haven't seen any good WP theme that you can use on clients, i use HTML/CSS themes that i have adapted to my needs and they look great and are easy to setup...
