Interesting Statistics In My Research Today
Share on:

Hello Everyone:

Since I do research, I get a number of newsletters, surveys and studies related to Mobile Marketing. I shared a few statistics that I thought would be of interest to my subscriber list and thought I would share them with you also. I will be providing a detailed analysis on my blog.

The stats come from a survey released in 11/2011 from a company called Motricity. The name of the Survey is the Motricity Mobile Shopping Survey. Here are some interesting findings from the study:

1.) Product Images and Site optimization were very important aspects of the respondents' mobile shopping experience. According the the newsletter I read today, this is very close to another recent survey conducted by a different research firm.

2.) 32% of smartphone users were prevented from making purchases on their phones due to security issues. Another major barrier was unreliable internet connections.

3.) The average price of the highest dollar purchase from respondents was $274. One third of those who responded did not spend over $100. In terms of the the makeup of that $274 average, men tended to spend more money on purchases than women did, and not by a small amount. Women averaged about $222 in their highest value dollar purchase and men averaged about $312.
