Interesting question - I would be curious to know as well- but why wouldn't you have a companion desktop site?

Well having a companion desktop site probally would help with the SEO part
but I hate building website
Right now I'm setting up my first 1 & it's a nightmare

It's also safe to assume that in the near future alot of companies will come out with a string of promotions targetted to mobile user & the desktop website will not be useful, so maybe aff. will set-up mobile sites giving a little spin on the google sniper method

But to be fair the question poped-up 'cause I really don't want to build desktop website if I don't have to

about the SEO it's anybody guess.

My 2 Cents: Right now google is kinda stumbling it's way in the mobile field
but you can't rank a site based on the parameters witch are intended to another platform all together. mobile website is not based on content & the linking sructure has to be completly different then desktop computers

Well I guess the only way to get answers is to put it to the test
if any 1 want to exchange mobile links just PM me
but it will take me a week 'till I have something for you

Yes, you do. Not everyone has a mobile phone even though it's rising. To really sum this up in two words, I would have to say "Plan B". Also, you need a Facebook Fanpage, yatta yatta yatta. It's never about just having one thing anymore. For a business to be successful anymore, we have to cover all angles. Good luck in all you do in life.

WoW Great info Elena!
You gave me alot to think about

I just got ranked at #10 on the first page on my main search term
over at my country : Super exciting birthday gift
But my Url is .NET not mobi or m. does it matter over at the states?
Did you had a chance to test other TLD's other than .mobe or.m?

Having a mobile website is a good idea but I think for the time being there are more people surfing internet through their desktop than via mobile.Coming era will surely be focused on mobile devices but it haven't become the order of the day yet.So having an desktop website for targeting the present customers is necessary.
