You are deleting them because you are not interested in them..
The key to mobile marketing is to find the core niche. The target market which needs what you are offering. If I was interested in a trip to Hawaii and I get a text message saying we offer you a trip to Hawaii at this this price then I would have at least read the message. Just a very basic example. Hope it helps

I have to say, I'm rather surprised that you arent more familiar with SMS Marketing being in India.

Judging by the number of SMS Reseller listing on Google based in India I honestly was under the impression it was more mainstream there.

Mobile Marketing is more than just SMS Messages, that is just one facet. Mobile coupons, Mobile Websites, Mobile Display Ads, Proximity Marketing are several others.

Essentially marketing services for businesses that are delivered via a persons cellphone.

ADVICE FOR YOUR PROBLEM: When you get an SMS message that you don't want, and you don't want to receive any more from the sender, reply with STOP (or STOP ALL) to the number that sent it.

If you receive a truly unsolicited message and you want to be certain that you don't receive any more of those from the sender, reply with ABUSE to the number that sent it.

This should help stop conventional unsolicited SMS messages. If you're receiving unsolicited GPS proximity messages, may God help you.

ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION: SMS works when marketers send attractive timely messages to people who've asked to receive them at least once. You can also search Google for how this works.

Beeswarn, the OP is in India and they have different rules there. So far as I know spamming is acceptable there which would explain all of her unwanted messages.
