I am training myself on how to build mobile websites and am coming upon some interesting resources and information as I research how to do this and thought I would share some of it with you all.

Here is what appears to be an excellent ebook that I plan to get (but which I have not yet gotten). It's much cheaper than any WSO here but appears to be much more comprehensive for only 99 cents.

I think you'll find a lot of the people around the forum are not the sort who want to get into a 100+ page book on mobile website design -- they are more interested in simple solutions that get the job done nice and quickly with as little learning curve as possible.

Had a look at the preview and decided to get it. I have been designing websites for about 10 years and while more than capable of designing for mobile, still found some useful info.

At the very least it gives you some good information and stats you can use when pitching to clients, can't really go wrong for 99c... I just hope I don't get a bunch of spam everyday, like after buying a few Wso's on here.

Yeah...I figured that might be the case Will but I shared that find for what it was worth just in case .

Thing is that with the nice and quick approach verses what I call the great and thorough approach...you might indeed be able to offer prospective customers a quick mobile web site but the needs of business owners might not be met very well in the long run by the nice and quick approach.

Because in general people who use the nice and quick approach do not really understand things in depth and are over their heads when it comes to knowing how to customize things to the point where business owners might want them to.

Two approaches. Both have their place though I will be developing a few questions that I will encourage prospective customers to ask competitors in the mobile marketplace to give them the heads up on whether competitors really know what they are talking about or are just regurgitating the bullet points they may have read somewhere.

It seems as though Internet Marketers whether they are newbies on up don't seem to want to spend time learning and developing. In general they want a simple push button solution.
Me myself I like to read, learn and create.

That's because they want quick and easy money.

And are often led to believe that they can make it by some of the hype that flies around.

At one time I too was moving in that line of thought until I woke up one day and realized that I had gotten nowhere with that flash in the pan approach and that I needed to get back to providing real value by offering something useful, innovative, or what have you.

Just like...well...a real business has to.

So I gave up the flash in the pan approach and went back to thinking of how I can create something valuable enough that others will want to pay for it. While I have not yet hit riches by this new approach I am indeed making much more money by focusing on the offer value to others approach than I ever did by the how can I make quick money for myself approach.

These days I routinely turn away from anything and everything that promises big money in exchange for very little from me work wise.

And other such headlines just turn me off and I don't usually even bother to open much less read whatever copy is associated with such statements.

Even the word Free can often turn me off these days as I have come to experience so much free stuff that is useless that the word Free in any kind of copy has almost become synonymous with useless (except with open source software which is most decidedly useful!).

I too love the quick and easy way....... :p but education pays in the long run, I love learning new skills and I feel very proud every time it happens, so I decided to buy it. As amoladora wrote you can go wrong for 99c!

Hmm...interesting. I mean I gain nothing from anyone buying the book I linked to but I find it interesting that people are buying it nevertheless.

Let's see. If I write a long ebook and sell it for 99c and sell 1000 copies that's...hmm...1000 dollars. Not great but hey...it's more than I have ever made over the internet.

I might write me a long ebook on something someday and sell it super cheap. Interesting concept.
