Hi all. I'm have began the process of identifying which businesses in my small town (15,000) have a mobile website. It has become a very long, drawn out project thus far, typing in google searches on my iPhone. Is there a way to bring up a mobile version on a PC? It would be much, much faster. I seem to remember a reference somewhere about typing m. before the website name and it would bring up a mobile version, if one exists. Steve |

the subdomain of m you previously mentioned doesn't alway refer to mobile website, it could be something else like mobile.domain.com etc. the best way to find which website has a mobile version is to edit your browser user agent string. if you are using chrome then go look in chrome app store...there is definitely something which suits your needs. Steve, You are going to make a LOT more traction if you don't worry about looking for mobile versions of websites. The truth is the percentage of businesses who currently have mobile websites is still tiny. Most of the businesses who do have them are the BIG corporations so when you are contacting small local businesses it is more likely than not that they have NO mobile version of their website. On the off chance you contact a business who has a mobile website it's not the end of the world. At least they now know you exist and you never know, one of them might want you to redesign their current mobile site. If you sit there worrying too much about looking for mobile versions you will waste a lot of your time unnecessarily. Just start contacting businesses. If you are going to do any type of searching beforehand then you would be MUCH better off spending that same time searching instead for websites that use flash. http://www.warriorforum.com/mobile-m...-tutorial.html |
