What do you guys use for your SMS marketing? I have been trying to find a good application or plugin but have not been able to find a good one to use for Twilio, they all have serious flaws.

I'm currently using trumpia, only because i got 20% off after my trial was over. Not exactly sure who i plan to stay with though. As far as my big clients i am definitely going with twilio. My partner said he has an awesome plug-in so when i talk to him i'll let u know witch one he was referencing

There are two different camps as I see it when it comes to SMS providers. There are your Twilios and the like that are extremely cheap or cost effective, but often don't have a developed back-end and don't use short codes. Then there are your AvidMobile and Lime Cellular types with short codes, well developed back-ends that tie in things like billing and the like along with the ability to basically do anything under the sun when it comes to SMS capabilities. Make no mistake, the latter will cost you a lot more initially than the former, but from my experience and research (man, have I done some research! Due diligence doesn't get any more due or diligent.) they scale so much better with your business.

So, if SMS is going to be a cornerstone for you, Look at Avid and Lime. If it'll be just another tool in your belt that might not get used as often you may consider the others. Hope this helps.

Will look at Avid right now.

Hi Kabir,
Ingenious nailed it ... depends on what you're looking for.

We dev'ed a in house Twilio platform that hit's the entry level. I.E. Those who want to get started but don't want the higher cost and really aren't at the stage that the extra's would be worth paying for.

However, we do offer both. For those clients I just described we hook them up with GoMobile Customer Contact ... those that grow and/or want the bells & whistles right out the gate we recommend Boost Mobile. However, Avid and Lime are good options as well.

I hope this helps.

Best Regards,

I have been looking very seriously at all of them and each time I keep coming back to Lime cellular. I still have a few questions but based on the webinar with Lime cellular it doesn't look like they nickel and dime you like avid will, so even if in the long run (once you have built your business up) you might save on the per text rate, you would have spent it in building your business. Especially with all the "add-ons" that (hope I am not speaking out of turn) appear to be built in with the White label options with Lime Cellular I am looking at. My concern with any of them is the saturation of the shortcodes keywords as well as the monthly charge for keywords.

Also, recently I saw a comment that said if someone screws around ona shared short code that the shortcode can be blocked and if it gets blocked then all keywords for that shortcode would be blocked because the number is blocked. I would love to hear how the companies would handle this. as well as how we would know if the shared number got blocked?

Try OpenVBX for the backend to Twilio. It works great. Anyone looking to start out, this is great.

Hi Guy, Hello. I am new here and this is my first comment.

I just wanted to say how helpful this has been. I have been thinking about getting into SMS messaging but where to start. I have looked at the providers mentioned and thanks to Ingenious ******* I am, like Nanaswhimsy, looking at going with Lime Cellular. As I am on the other side of the pond in the UK I was looking for something which works over here. This is partly because I am not sure of any difference, if any, between US and UK systems. And it turns out that Lime works in the UK.

So, thanks to everyone.
