To Web App OR Website, that is the question???

Hello fellow Mobile Warriors,

was hoping to get some feedback on 2 questions.

1. Whats the biggest advantage to a Business to have a Web App versus a mobile version of their site?

2. Does anyone have a resourse for building apps?
I have WillR and Quintins stuff, but was wondering about true Apps?

I think the major issue with apps is that you would need a different app for each different platform (iPhone, Android, Blackberry) etc. As where the mobile site can run on most any platform because it is web based.

The next major issue is going to be cost. To do a traditional app is going to be fairly expensive where a mobile site is relatively cheap.

Just my 2 cents...

I agree with TTR

Apps are good for bigger corporations however websites are perfect for small to medium businesses as they are cross platform and cheaper.

Yes, I agree with everyone else, if the company should have to make a choice, go with the website. Apps are cool and all that, but they can sometimes cause other problems with users phones. Just new territory with problems that cld arise unnecessarily and you wouldn't have those issues with a site.
