I been lurking around warrior forum for a while now trying to gain every bit of knowledge from as many posts as I can. There is a wealth of information here and what I've realized is in the beginning I got into the habit of jumping from one idea to the next to the next and never focusing on one. Finally when I focused on one I was stuck in analysis paralysis. I would do plan, plan and plan a little more but never take action. I was just going in circles and then I don't know what clicked but I guess I had just had enough of over analyzing and over thinking things. In the last week, I've registered my business, put up my website, created my business cards, and created a list of local businesses I want to contact regarding mobile websites and sms marketing. It's time now to put the plan into action. I've gone through my local newspaper and collected a list of businesses that are actively advertising, put them in an excel sheet and will be cold calling as of today. I actually just made my first call to a local spa and spoke to a girl that I actually know (coincidence), she was very interested and said she'll put in the good word with her manager and get him to call me back asap. It's not much but it feels great finally taking action. I hope I have as much success as others have had on this forum. There is some very inspiring posts and they've all helped me get to this point. Now it's time for me to take control and make this happen! Ill post updates of my progress regularly! |

Making that first call is often the hardest step to take for many. Kudos on making that call! Keep in mind it is always to take more "No's" to get to the "Yes's" One word of advice....do your best to actually make it to the decision makers as underlings have very little sway over the Bosses decisions. Be careful not to give the gatekeepers too much information as much of what you tell them will either be forgotten or lost in translation. |

I think people fail with a any business becuase they don't take action! You can literally search and read more information online but until you take action your business doesn't exist. Congrats and keep us updated!

Good luck. Cold calling is a tough gig, but it can pay off. The point was made before, but you're going to get a No a lot more than a Yes. Success isn't a matter of having more Yes's than No's, it's a matter of plowing through the No's until you get the big Yes's. It can be tough going though, so keep at it and good luck.
