I am getting ready to send out a email blast and was going to put a video in the email. It is a video assassin video but the company Im using thinks I should use a link to my web site with the video in it. I don't know if sending out the email with the video in it would slow it down or make it harder to send, they just say that it would convert better with the link. This is contrary to what Ive read on here. any opinions. I thought some of you have probably run into the same thing

Hi Jeff, I have been looking into this recently and I have purchased a product that does a number of things but one if to produce your own branded video email product. I believe this is a major gap in the market as you never see emails with videos on them. It makes it so personal and stands you out from the crowd. I also think that is you want people to click a link to your blog to see a video then you are likely to lose some. However, if you have an email with a personal video message ready to play then you have a far greater chance to connect with them on a personal level. If you would like to discuss this further then please drop me a line. Best regards Giuseppe |

Sending out an email with a video in it will cause it to be sent to spam folder by some ISPs, as you may have already ascertained, the highest readability is plain text emails. Here is a suggestion: do an A/B split test, then you can judge your own results.. if you don't want to do the split test on your entire list, segment it and once you get the results from the segment, you know how to deploy to the rest of the list..

I would never include the video in the email. You should always link a page on your website that has the video. At worst, if you want to include something in the email then include an image of the video which looks exactly like the video so when they click on it they are taken to the page on your website that has the video.

It also catches the attention of more spam filters and it also looks more like spam and has less chance of being opened when someone receives an email from someone they do not know that has an attachment in it. I know if I ever receive emails with attachments from people I do not know they usually go straight to my junk folder.

I'd prefer to get a link over video in an email.

Do you want to put a video file in the email or an embedded video like youtube. If it's an embedded video I think it's a good idea

You should insert a (screenshot) in the e-mail that links externally to your website or your video hosting's website.

To Texas Tom: Did you ask for a refund from Willr through this thread? If so, you made an error. Use the ticket support system. And I COMPLETELY disagree--his mobile website product is the best on the market, bar none. I know--I bought it. You're entitled to your opinion, but I'll bet you never tried to actually use the program. With only six posts on this forum, I have my doubts about you. Not all, but many, many posters on this forum with low post counts are fictional buyers.

E-mail newsletters have a 3% read rate, with conversion rates naturally lower. Why would you send them?
