Again...looking at some of the Mobile Templates in the thread WillR started...I was "Inspired" by one (www.Muscat.Mobi) (Photo Below) These folks have started a "Mobile Site Directory" for cities across the globe. Now....when you look at this "Mobile Directory" for Cities....you may "See What I See"! Here's how I'm using this to make moola. Spring is coming and....Hotels/Motels are beginning to be "interested" in the upcoming "Traveler/Tourist" season. So....in my area....there are 20 Motels (a Hotel is a large bldg where Guests park IN THE BLDG and compared to MOtells where Guests park OUTSIDE the bldg) 10 INdependents and 10 "Francises" (Best Western, Motel 6 Holiday Inn, etc) Out of the INdependents....only 2 have a website. 8 do not. Forget the "Chains"....they are all happy with what their Chain is providing. So....looking at this "niche" from the standpoint of selling "Mobile Websites" ....I thought; "Just TWO prospects for my "Mobile Sites"? Sure....I could try and sell the 8 Motels that don't have a regular site and then UpDate them to a Mobile....but....what if I were to come up with a way to get ALL 20 into a program where THEY would WANT to participate (and PAY a Monthly Fee)? So....looking at "www.muscat.mobi"....I put together a "Mobile Directory" for the Town...with Categories not only for "Lodging" or "Accomodations' (I call this Category "Where To Stay")....but....other Categories, Where To Eat (with a List of Food Categories)....Where To Shop....Attractions... Entertainment....Services.....pretty much covering MOST business categories. Now....instead of providing a "Full-Fledged" Mobile Site for participants, I'm providing ONE-PAGE Sites! My "One-Page" Mobile Sites consist of; Photo & Logo at Top Paragraph about the biz Address, Phone and Tap-To-Call button Map at bottom So....I am NOW able to go to ALL the Motels; Independents with a Mobile Site Independents without a Mobile Site Chain locations In my instance....TWENTY businesses for starters. Then I work on Restaurants.....Night Spots....Gift Shops...Realtors....Car Washes....Auto Services...then....regular businesses (Accountants, Attorneys, etc) Now....many of these business who will want into my "Mobile Directory" will also want....a "Regular" website....SEO stuff...SMS Stuff...etc. Could be a BIGGIE! Now....don't ask what I'm charging for this because my fees vary with each category. It's now up to YOU to set it up and go from here AND... the NEAT THING about this is ....it's a "Foot In The Door" thingee where, once a biz signs up to be in the "Mobi-Directory"....they now "TRUST" you and "KNOW" you....so...selling other stuff to them is easy-peasy. So....YOU take it from here! One thing for SURE....Mobile is only going to get bugger. We are in the "Ground-Floor" of a Giant Industry. Travelers/Tourists are COMING! Businesses are "gearing up"! NOW is the time to HIT! Then...when you get the "Traveler/Tourist" Directory up and running...it's an easy step to businesses that rely on LOCAL CONSUMERS. Happy "Moola-Making"! Once again pretty cool. Are you setting up your categories to just show up on the front page and they link to each with then links to the niche biz?

Each participating biz gets ONE Page in their Category; Logo or Photo Info about biz (text) Address, Phone, Hours Button to existing website IF they have one Click To Call button Map The neat thing about this is that MANY biz do NOT even have Regular sites so....a Mobile Town Directory get them INTO the "Mobile" arena. And....the UPdate is making their existing site Mobile-Ready or making a regular site for them then...make it Mobile-Ready. Don Alm |
