Getting ready to go through a major overhaul and revamp of my business. Aka: looking at operations and also expanding product offerings. Am planning on adding mobile sites into the mix. I know how to create them and have a guy outsourced who does as well. But am thinking white label might be the way to go so they can handle most of the work while I interface with the clients. Been doing a lot of research online. Was curious as to whether any warriors were having good success with companies they would be comfy sharing... |

Hi Tabitha, it depends on the industry. You want to work with a company that has exp. in design for your particular vertical. I work with restaurants, so I am using Chompstack. Keyword your industry + mobile sites, then see what comes up.

Hi Tabitha, I have a client in a similar situation to yours. Before she could decide white label vs outsourced, she needed to determine the purpose of the new mobile site. Do you need a version of your current website that is optimized for mobile? Do you need an app? Or do you need mobile landing pages for a mobile ad campaign. This client is a limo company in Los Angeles. They are running a campaign of mobile pay-per-click advertisements on Google. So when someone clicks on their ad, they need it to be directed to a mobile landing page, not a mobile website. The landing page with have very specific information relevant to the ad. For example if I am in LA and I search "airport limo LAX" from my iPhone, I want to see a phone number and a company with 5 star reviews for Airport Transportation to and from LAX. Whether or not they have bachelorette party buses and prom specials is completely irrelevant to me. So for this client we are designing a series of landing pages that go with each ad. They chose to outsource the project to my company because they know they will get a very high quality design at an affordable price. However, they also need a version of their website optimized for mobile. For this it might make more sense for them to go with a Whitelabel solution and here is why. Their website is developed on a Wordpress CMS. So its easy enough for them to find a Wordpress theme that already includes a mobile CSS. Basically, by installing and configuring this new theme, they will automatically have the mobile version of their site. (to make a mobile optimized version of your website, it requires developing a CSS file optimized for mobile which is different the your primary CSS). I hope this helps. -Michael |
