Question re: instant mobile site creation services

Can someone please explain the pros and cons about services like gomobi. I understand having to register a new .mobi domain as a drawback, but their pitch is a mobile site in 5 mins and as low as $7.50 per month hosting. I could not see where there were any kind of setup fees.

I just want to be able to offer my competitive advantage over these types of services and am interested in your feedback. thx

There is no setup fee for gomobi services. There are pros an cons with any mobile services. As far as being able to distinguish pros and cons out there between mobile products, each one has it's own unique qualities. You actually do not have to register a domain to use gomobi services. They provide a subdomain for you or you can customize a gomobi subdomain which they host.

As far as being able to compete with these services of this type it really just depends on your creativity.

There are a few disadvantages.

1. You host your site on a third party service. If I am creating a load of mobile sites for my paying clients the last thing I want to do is host them with someone else. If you built a regular website for a client would you host it on blogger or something similar? No. This is only going to cause you issues further down the line. I would much rather create and own outright the mobile sites I am selling.

2. A mobile website should not have all the same content as a desktop website. The information should be much more condensed and prioritized for mobile users.

3. Run one of their sites through a validator and see what you get.

Don't they also include ads?

Adding ads is optional. You collect the monetary rewards. It uses admob. It's your choice.
