| How to Update QR Codes & change URL destination after Code has been made: Question & Basic Solution
Basically I was on this thread earlier yesterday http://www.warriorforum.com/mobile-m...ode-later.html My issue was the same as that of Big Gee but I couldn't understand what WillR meant nor did I even know the full extent of the possibilities of QR codes or what it really was. I recommend these two as starting points for everyone who is also new to QR 5 Genius Examples of QR Codes in Marketing How to Use QR Codes to Market Your Business | Inc.com So after spending the whole day reading WF results and Googling QR codes I think I found a very ''basic solution'' for redirecting and hope this helps anyone else who was in need like I was. (I say basic as it has flaws which comes to light) Here It Is First of all you need to go to get you ''redirector'' address at welcome.to free short URL redirect and web forwarding service (signup and login) (I'm not even sure how I stumbled upon this but it was in one of the tabs I had opened while reading so I wouldn't know what the right keyword is to tell you to search for in google to find a similar service) The redirector is essentially what tells the QR code when scanned where it should go aka the destination. So then you should create the ''redirector'' address and where it should forward to. Now if you want to change the destination you can comeback (login) and change the destination of where the redirector is forwarding to Next use one of the QR code Generators QR Code Generator: QR Stuff Free Online QR Code Creator And Encoder For T-Shirts, Business Cards & Stickers Create URL - mQR QR-Code Generator Tool - vCards, Websites, Messages, Emails & More Custom Design QR Codes Tips QR Code Generator, 2d Barcode Generator, QR Code QR-Code Generator Insert you re-director url and then. Press generate to create a QR code. Its taken me the whole of yesterday and early morning (early am as we speak) to decipher all of this first understanding QR codes thanks to reading it all on WF and then trying to understand the redirect thing. Now as I said earlier this is a basic solution because I noticed that even though it worked it has a drawback. Basically when you go to the destination website which the redirector site has told the QR code to go to there are sponsored ads at the top of the screen on your mobile fun which I believe seriously slows down the loading Secondly If you try typing in the redirect URL itself into the web address it comes back as invalid. So I guess this is the cue for the Pros or anyone who knows what better services that offer this same redirection function but without the ads causing slow load and hopefully will also work when put in the laptop browser or mobile browser itself. At least hope I've helped someone with this look forward to all responses tips and advice thanks in advance and now I must sleep else become completely nocturnal. |
