Landed in a swanky opportunity. Need some ideas and advice

Hello,
I work at a local midsized print shop here in my town, and have been talking
with the owner, who is also a great friend, about branching into mobile marketing.
We would like to combine the product with which they are already fairly successful, i.e.
the printing side of things, with the power of QR codes and SMS marketing.

My way of thinking is that, since the two markets are so closely related to one
another especially with the need for QR codes to be included on printed materials,
that the opportunity here is literally limitless.

We have a massive client base to work from, of already satisfied customers.

And, we will have a budget, to start, somewhere on the order of 30K per year.

I've never been on a project this big, and while I'm not new to Internet
Marketing (I've been doing programming and development for IMers for
years, I am relatively new to mobile marketing.

If you want to recommend a WSO that has brought you some success, that too
would be much appreciated.

One thing we're already going to be doing is building mini sites targeted at
certain printed materials, for instance business cards, targeting specific
keywords, and bring in new traffic from both paid and organic methods.

We have the software to build awesome quote engines. But nowadays it
takes a lot more than price to convert a customer, but it is a capability.

With mobile and SMS marketing we're going to be targeting local real estate
companies to provide them with Geo Fencing and Geo Location thought QR
codes on the property signage. For example, someone scans the QR code on
a sign, and is instantly informed of several similar properties within a targeted
area (geo-fencing).

Thanks guys. This community has been great to me. Hopefully I can give back soon.

Hi.

Here's a few ideas:

Purchase:

Geo-business database (i.e.: customlists.net, etc)
  • Email market to have businesses send in name, address, and 3-5 photo for potential QR code attachments.
  1. option 1 - Do one-two free and other two at a premium with biz card purchase.
  2. option 2 - Offer discount coupon to use with purchase.

Email scraper (i.e.: ecrawler)
  • Join 'linkedin', facebook and similar social networks.
  • Scrape with filters for brick & mortar business audience list relevant to your market service potential.
  • Determine list-type of suppliers of business needs for your scraped list and scrape for suppler list url's.
  • Join CPA' program as advertiser (determine your volume commission ROI).
  • Create a FREE offering.
  • Send email to initial list asking permission to offer coupon for their visiting your site.
  • Place FREE offering advertisements in social networks, and at the same time, advertise collected suppler list in 'PPV' funnel system with link to your CPA advertiser conversion optimized home page.
  • With all list, backend drip-feed weekly or monthly free to enter incentive contest or sweepstakes or coupon for QR code and biz-card prize or other appropriate offerings.
Just a few ideas.

My experience with Real Estate Agents is that they often have propriety software for their listings and very few are mobile enabled.

This means that any linking with QR Codes is not very successful.

There are a lot of industries that you can target that don't have so many rerstrictions that could be a lot better to target.

Great point. But I say, if you'd still like to target a big vertical like real estate, choose a segment within it that may be easier to approach and not have as many "proprietary" restrictions put in place yet - like home inspectors. If you get in good with the home inspector market, they will have some influence with their contacts locally (like other real estate agents) which will be helpful when you're ready to expand and the "barriers to entry" in those other segments become easier to overcome.

keep movin'...

buzz
