Hey guys, I'm Darrett Stevenson. I've been learning/researching about mobile websites for the last 2 months. I've been through a few e-books, and have learned about different methods of contacting clients. Now I don't come from a sales background, and am worried that I should get a few clients before I just start walking into businesses so I can build some confidence. As far as e-mail, cold calling, direct mail, flyers, etc...What is the most converting method? I just gathered the contact info for 50 local chiropractors. My goal is to succeed on selling to 3 of them. I've already done 1 free site for a chiro and having his testimonial should be helpful. So can you guys please help me out, and anyone else out that's reading these forums? I don't care what it takes I just want to know the most converting method. I've put a lot of work into learning and just want to put this into action to prove to myself that I really can make money from this. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Darrett |

I would say cold calling. Don't give your name if you don't have to, that way you can call back in a few weeks if you're turned down. I would think restaurants would be best to start out with. If you can't sell this to a restaurant it may not work for you. If you're definitely going to do chiro's first, how are you going to give them SMS services? I've only dabbled into lime cellular and am so far impressed. They have an appointment confirming type of service. So you could call them up and say something like "how would you like to decrease your appointment confirming calls by 70%". that's a lot of time they'll save. They'll be able to just enter the appointments into the system, and the customer can click C to confirm, D to deny, whatever and they get an instant notification that says the customer has confirmed. Whoever doesnt confirm they can call them and have saved time, and freed up the phone lines. Remember 97% of all texters respond within 4 minutes of seeing their texts, or something like that.

The truth is Darrett there is no absolute method to get clients. I just went and had a look at our stats for last month and here is the breakdown. 20% direct call or cold calling 40% through niche sites 15% Agents 25% wholesale Clients ranged from service industries, retail, govt dept, manufacturing, promotions Hope this gives you some ideas. If you are new and have no portfolio try this. Use Google Places to create a list of local businesses with sites that do not load on a phone or that are very difficult to navigate. Create one or two pages of a new mobile site for each of those businesses. Walk in and show them there site as it is now on a phone(not loading ect)..then show them the one you created. Doing this I would think you will close atleast 20%

Thanks for all the feedback guys. Quentin, thanks for the reply I've followed your course and it's helped me out a lot. My brother Jarrett Stevenson says he hung out with you in Thailand too, which was pretty funny. These are all great ideas, and yes it seems like the only true way to find out is to test it myself and see what is the most successful for me. Cheers guys, Darrett |
