A mate of mine who has just started his IT business wants to begin offering mobile sites via duda mobile's plan. Duda has a pretty sweet system from what I have seen. Im just wondering if anyone has any direct experience with them an dcan give us some honest feedback. So far we have noted that they only supply the source code and any further developments would need to be done by ourselves which is fine from our point of view. |

As far as I could tell (and it may have changed), Duda takes content straight from the site you're making a mobile site for. The trouble with this is if the site is flash based it won't work on mobile devices, so you'd have to go through it and remove any flash products yourself. You might as well just build your own, in that case. |

I use duda myself...it's very good and the support is excellent. Me being a newbie when it comes to building mobile sites, I asked alot of questions and they typically respond within 24 hours. And the duda team are constantly upgrading their site building tools to make it faster and easier to build sites. Yes some sites with flash and javascript wont convert well with duda, but you can easily create a site using their blank templates. Hope that helps |

The point is a mobile site should not always just have the same content as a standard website. The content should be tailored to mobile users and prioritized in a way that the information important to mobile users can be quickly and easily found.

I send emails to restaurant owners in Resort Towns and use a "Subject" line; "You Are Losing BIG Money!" Then in the body I explain that hundreds of HUNGRY Tourists/Travelers are checking into hotels in their area, every day. They ALL carry some kind of Mobile Device and....when they look for places to eat....I can show you what they see when they click on YOUR restaurant. Just send me a Reply message, "Yes! I'd like to see what my website looks like on Mobile Devices...at NO obligation!"...and I'll send it to you! When I receive a Reply....I use a Site Emulator/Simulator to bring up their site....make a copy with Snag-It and send it over. Then I either send a Duda Mock-Up or a neat little piece of software that creates a "Before & After" Mock-Up! Very Impressive. Don Alm |

My associates and I use the Dudamobile Reseller package and it works out perfectly for mobile websites. We use SignalHQ for our Mobile Marketing components and Mark Helton's Video Prospector Pro to send out the Video Sales Letters for Mobile every day. I can tell you that the support with Dudamobile is top notch and the features are being enhanced every week. |

I use Duda Mobile as well. I agree with the rest of them. They have been great and very responsive so far. I usually just create a completely blank Wordpress domain on a .mobi. Then I forward the user to it with a script that detects mobile phones. This also gives me a blank canvas to create the site. Duda has a "feature" that when you update the main non-mobile site it will update the mobile site as well. Great in theory but from my experience it doesn't work very well. Especially when you add or remove pages. That is the main reason I create the .mobi. |

I use DudaMobile as well and think it's the neatest thing. It literally does build a mobile site in seconds. You can always fine tune it later, but after the experience of using other softwares to build mobile sites, this one rocks! I highly recommend it.

IMO Duda is for newbies and DIY. Personally I don't think your clients would like it if they found out you were charging thousands for a mobile site that they could have done themselves in 5 minutes. I agree with WillR that mobile content should be unique for the mobile experience and not just auto scrapped from a desktop site.

Duda charge a fee of $199 per year, plus you have to pay 6 bucks a month for every site you create. What´s the deal here?

Duda is very nice! I use it and it makes life easier. You can alter the data if you need for those you say you need to change the info on the site to make it different. I use it for my clients and it's fantastic. They are always offering updates and tutorials that help along the way. Good luck either way. |

We used Duda awhile ago, then dropped it when they started charging $200. For $200 and $6mo per site, didnt seem worth it when we could make our own. Also, besides the flash sites not working, our experience was painful, mostly because whenever our client updated their site, it destroyed the mobile site we made. It was way more difficult maintaining in the end.

IMO you can use these types of "instant mobile site generators" when trying to get a prospect interested, as you can do a mockup in a few seconds. I then use the image of the mockup only. Because if the prospects are interested, then build it/have it built, and host it yourself.

These advertising plugs in the form of posts for DudaMobile are really becoming a nuisance.

I started using Duda but after they raised their prices I wondered if they would continue to raise it and found other ways to build the sites. Besides I'm leery about getting a lot of customers on a system I have no control of in case something happens. They are great for quick mocks ups though if the site is not flash. Just let it do it's thing, make minor changes if necessary (shouldn't take more than 5 minutes). then take a screen shot of the home page. Ron |

Don't forget that after they take your money, Duda uses it to compete against you. They are offering your prospects free websites for a year, with Google's imprimatur on it right now. Here's a link to their current offer, and there are more all over the web. Get Started |

Don't they allow you to create a sample site that you can show to your client, before you pay anything? If I remember, you could also temporarily "eliminate" the ad at the bottom... Thomas |

I use dudamobile to make mobile websites and love it. As I've said before, they are in a partnership with Google, ATT, and Yahoo and several turnkey website companies like webs.com and are venture capital backed. I honestly doubt they are going anywhere soon. Especially due to their reseller program. |

Duda is a bit pricey. However, if it does what I need to do quicker then it might be worth the cost. I am reviewing the info about it right now.

Guys, Thanks for the comments about Duda. I am interested in offering mobile website services and Dudba seems to be a good option for someone new who doesn't have a lot of money or programming expertise. |
