Say you get a client that already has a website, but not on the WP platform, and they want to keep the same domain, how do you go about this, Mick.

You create a subdomain, something like m so the mobile site would be at m.domain.com. You then create them a mobile site and upload it into that m subdomain. You then install a simple mobile redirect script on their main site so mobile devices are detected and automatically redirected to the mobile site.

thanks for that Will, thats what i was thinking, so then if they have a person who looks after there main site, i would create a mobile site in kompozer, and then give them the details to upload everything as I obviously wont have any control pover there hosting if they already have a webmaster., am I correct in this thinking, Mick.

It really depends how you set up the mobile site. If it's going to be a third party hosted solution many of them provide redirect scripts and custom URL's with only making some minor changes at the host or domain registrar level. |
