1. Create and submit a Google Mobil sitemap 2. Add your meta description and keyword tags 3. Send links to your mobile site Yep, just exactly the same as SEO for a regular website. |

Mobile website SEO highly requires responsive websites. You need to make your website fully compatible for mobile devices such as smart and mobile phones. Mobile version of a website helps to gain results rapidly. Your target keywords can also be different from ordinary keywords as users type very short keywords while searching on a mobile device. So you need to analyze some new keywords also. Strategy and techniques are almost same as conventional SEO techniques. |

One important thing to keep in mind when optimizing your site for mobile usage in addition to the discussed items above, is to keep the contents brief as much as possible. mobile users hate lengthy contents.

I don't know why he is getting different results on mobile as if we will search same keywords on PC you will see good ranking but mobi results are different. As we see google is much active for google places on mobile. And recently google also merged google + pages and local listing if you know.

If someone searches for a local term i am pretty sure a website will show first in the natural organic SERPS as opposed to a native APP... Do you have any examples of a local APP ranking first page for a local search term that you have created?

Hi, SEO on mobile websites is the same than on bigger websites. Start with a good keyword search, so that you can put meta-tags and keywords on each page, then submit your sitemap to Google Mobile, Yahoo Mobile, Live Mobile and so on. You will see fast increase in visits. See you soon, Alessandro Zamboni |

You may also want to look into creating a mobile sitemap. For instance A1 Sitemap Generator has had this capability for many years, just be sure to use the mobile preset before scanning. (That said, if you mix mobile with non-mobile pages, and you don't use user agent sniffing, you will need to do a little more configuration yourself, so A1SG knows which URLs to include and not include.) |

You're right, Hugh. SEO strategies don't differ as Google doesn't have an algorithm specific to mobile websites. Furthermore, if you're just redirecting off of their regular site, the SEO is a non issue as you're simply riding their coattails on the behavior and SEO they've already built up.

No SEO for Mobile Apps listed in the app store. If you redirect mobile users to your mobile site.. the Spiders wont get there.

The best and simplest way to redirect traffic from your current site if visitors arrive from a mobile phone is using mobile user agent detection code. This automatically directs the mobile user to the mobile site.

Generally, SEO for mobile websites is very similar to SEO for a normal WordPress website, for example. The only difference, in my opinion, is that Google is likely to start placing increased emphasis on usability and optimized loading times, if it isn't already. Aside from that, simply include a meta description and keyword tags, include keywords in your site's content and add a mobile sitemap. Then add backlinks or hire someone on here to do it for you cheaply. |

as I am think for different search results for Google on desktop or on mobile web browser, I think, while searching on mobile devices Google gives preference to those website who built to run on mobile devices... that s might be a reason of showing different results, or the website which created to run on mobile devices too, might have been doing seo, as the Google always wants to shows the best results for their users, so it comes up mobile devices.

M listing few of the tips so that your mobile website gets noticed in search engine: 1)Make sure you create a mobile Site Map. <?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″ ?> <urlset xmlns=”http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9″ xmlns:mobile=”http://www.google.com/schemas/sitemap-mobile/1.0″> <url> <loc>http://mobile.example.com/article100.html<;/loc> <mobile:mobile/> </url> </urlset> (Whatever you do, don’t omit the <mobile:mobile/> tag, or your mobile site won’t be crawled. 2)Unique name 3)Avoid use of Huge titles 4) Remember to submit it to Google webmaster |

Mobile search engines have different bots and algorithms than those used for traditional web search. One of the best things you can do to improve your mobile search results is follow traditional SEO best practices as closely as possible. While mobile bots and indexes are different from web search, things like title tags, heading tags and alt tags are still very important. The next step is to include a mobile site map. Google has a tool that can help you build a mobile sitemap. If you are using multiple markup languages, for instance XHTML and WML you should submit a separate mobile sitemap for each language that exists on the site, and include only the pages that will render in browsers that can read that type of code. Be sure to link to the mobile site map in your robots.txt file, just like you would for a traditional site map. |

Ifyou know how to do SEO for a regular website, then you know how to do SEO for a moble site too. If you are not so familiar with mobile websites, you cam create a webisite and create a mobile version of it. This way you will transfer traffic to your mobile website easy.

I get that good back link and meta tags are important and similar to larger websites, but to say that mobile webiste seo is the same as larger sites misses one important factor: content. Google still looks for plentiful, original content on a standard website, but a mobile website needs to limit the content. It makes sense to me that a website that re-positions itself for mobile usage without a mobile redirect could gain the benefit of contextual seo by having plentiful, original content. In this case, we don't need to divide precious back-links, directory listings, etc between two different sites. Mobile websites are necessary and needed, but better SEO can still be gained from an appropriately developed standard website. |

It really depends on the industry or niche that you are targeting too. Same as standard websites re competition analysis of what is working for certain sites using specific keywords. Analyze what is working, match this with your own sites, and exceed to get to #1. |
