Hi, Does anyone know of good lead gen scraper software for selling mobile websites? I bought a WSO where the software scrapes yellow pages listings and prints out a spreadsheet showing businesses that have websites, but not websites that are optimized for mobile. While this is great in principal for lead gen, I can't get the software to work! I have written a support ticket. Is there other software that is good for lead gen to sell to businesses that do not have websites that are optimized for mobile? Thanks, Joe |

Joe, I know an awesome piece of software. It's called your brain. Scraping is a mugs game in my opinion. You just end up scraping and contacting all the businesses that have been contacted by everyone else already. Sure, it might save you a bit of time but the results are going to be horrible. You are much better off taking your time to find the leads manually. It will take some more time but your results will be far better. Each to their own I guess. I prefer to use my time wisely. |

Will, Thank you for your answer to my question about scraper software. I tried to PM you, but I do not have enough posts. Allow me to explain more fully why I asked the question. I have a two pronged marketing plan. Part one - in my local area, I plan to sell the mobile sites and gain a foot in the door for a relationship and further sales (SMS, SEO, etc). For this part, I agree that using my brain is best. Part two is to give away mobile sites in exchange for hosting with me. My plan is to use phone salesmen for this. This part of the plan is not for my local area. For part two, I need a significant base of leads. I cannot hire a phone person or persons unless they have enough numbers to dial on a regular basis. Other than my brain, do you have any other suggestion for part two of my marketing plan. I know you are very busy and active on the forum. I thank you in advance for any additional suggestions. Of course, other fellow warriors, please let me know if you have any suggestions. Joe P.S. Will, you had given me great advice to another question I had posted in this forum. Your advice, in a nutshell, was get off your butt and get started! For right or wrong, the plan I mentioned in the body of my post is what I came up with, and I was going to start selling this week, when my scraper did not work. So, I made this post. Thanks again, and I look forward to any reply you and other warriors might give. |

Hi Maxlinks, I won't speak for Will, who really knows his stuff, but allow me to tell you what I think. My plan for businesses in the area where I live and can visit them is to find businesses via search engine in the niche I am targeting and manually check to see if they have a website optimized for mobile. If they do not, I will contact them for a face to face meeting. I think it is good to start with sites like the YP, because businesses on a site like this are already willing to pay for advertising and branding. How do I get a face to face sales meeting? Either via cold call, warm call (send them email or something in snail mail and then call), or in person cold call. Also maybe direct mail with a contact number and website. Just my thoughts. Still, I would like suggestions on scrapers for the other part of my plan. Joe |

Kyhawk2, Thanks for the suggestion. I took a look at it, and then wrote to the seller to see if it has the filter I talked about in this thread. Joe |

For a lot of offline services, finding those businesses who are already spending money on advertising is a great start. But this doesn't mean just looking in the yellow pages or Google to find those businesses... because that's where everyone else is looking as well. You want to try and get a bit smarter. Looks for places where your local businesses are advertising but most people would not know about.

Thank you WillR and Kyhawk2. Fellow Warriors, are there any other suggestions for scrapers or other lead gen software that meets the criteria I outlined in this thread? Thanks again, Joe P.S. I have been looking online and through the forums. The only one I have found that meets my needs is very expensive. I am sure it is excellent, but not in the budget right now. |

Will is pretty much correct, for lead gen, manual might be the best way to go.

Kenmichaels, I apologize. I goofed. I received your email and read it. It contained some great ideas. In particular, your advice on the method in the email was pretty awesome. That said, I did not see in your email the answer to whether SBP had the capability to identify businesses that do not have websites optimized for mobile. Also, I did not see where you said you would give me one in your email. Honestly, I did not intend to be rude, and certainly am appreciative of help. I will reply to your email. Thanks, Joe I just re-read the sales page for SBP, and...duh...it has exactly the feature I am looking for. I am a dumb ass. I replied to your email, and will check out SBP. |

I do share this acc with my partner, so maybe there was more then one email one from him about SBP and one from me... i have a yp scraper that checks mobile, that i was going to give you for free... not SBP... and i don't remember writing about any email tactics, so you must have talked to either my partner or one of our VA's I just got an email from you saying you want to get together on Friday. We can clear it up then. and my offer still stands. Sorry for any confusion.

I've been searching for the same thing recently as my company just started offering mobile sites. So far on here I've found. http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...vices-now.html http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...ine-sales.html and http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...seconds.html#1 I'm leaning towards the first one. |

From my own experience with the software I have purchased (price range $27-$300+) The accuracy is far from being 100% I still have to manually check. So you can't rely too much on software unless you don't mind getting told a few times you're on glue. Ask me how I knew that, oops |
