Hi all, some weeks ago I read an article or a posting about how to sell QR codes to small businesses. At that time I did not know much about them. In the mean time, however, I learned a lot about QR codes and I think they will be all over the place in the not too distant future. So I would love to read that posting again, and it was very probably on this forum. However, I cannot find it any more. Would somebody know where I could find it? Thanks dtm |

Not sure where that thread is, but QR codes are almost impossible to sell by them selves. I have had success selling custom branded QR codes, with monthly tracking reports, and a mobile site the QR code links to. I also have google analytics running on the mobile site, so the client gets stats on the visits, and the scans. Always have a purpose for the QR code, like coupons, or certain promotions, and offer to change it up for the client whenever they wish. This is good for recurring income. Also, sell them on a demo.

I never use them but I think it would be neat to get a business card with the code. Just scan it and load the contact into my phone instead of manually entering it. Another thing I'm thinking about is putting a QR code on a menu and scanning it brings up pictures of the food. I find putting pictures of the food on the menu or on a TV on the wall kind of tacky but this seems half good idea half tacky to me. |

Well we have been saying that for the last few years but they still have not become as mainstream as people expected. I do not think they are destined to be a huge marketing tool in the future. When Google gives up on something you know it probably has a relatively short shelf life. |
