I'd like to open a discussion about the app making programs available... this was somewhat spurred by all the emails I've been getting about Skybuilder. It looks good, but are there cheaper alternatives? I'd like info about a solution that would let us make our own apps to sell both to offline small businesses, as well as apps we can make and put directly on BOTH Apple and Google (Android and IPhone) stores to sell or give away free and monetize with Admob or in-app sales, etc.. I've seen programs that charge a flat fee and you can then make unlimited apps, as well as ones that charge by the app, etc.. Besides pricing, features and ease of use are important of course as well. Do you have any suggestions? Z |

I've used many app programs, BuzzTouch, Appgeyser, Appsbar, Appmakr, Conduit.... When I first started I actually bought application templates and modified them through java/eclipse and ported them to the market. Check the e-book in my signature to see exactly what I am doing with the app market and what service I use. You can actually take your applications and quickly embed them into an iframe, which makes it easy to land offline clients. I don't do much offline though, I prefer to put stuff on the market. |

BTW i found a service somewhere a while ago that offers FREE convert of a website and also they bring it to the marketplaces for free on their own accounts! So in theory you can app your mobile website. They even have an WP plugin so it gets live updating! You can also search WP plugins for it since I found it there. But saw they still had some startup issues and don't know how far they are now. But the concept looks fine. Maybe I will find it myself again and SHOUT it out loud at the THREADS were "some" used car salesmen are trying to sell their App service :p |

PM me and I'll hook you up with a demo of our platform You can do virtually anything with our no code required platform! Site conversion apps are a very bad move and anyone suggesting that route shouldn't be in mobile. We have an array of plugins including WP and Ning. You can use our demo app to present the clients app to them before they buy if you wish as well. If you would like to wait, I'll be offering up a WSO for warriors. You can build as many apps as you like without having to spend a dime until you're happy

I've created about 20 or so mobile apps that are bringing in some extra cheddar at the beginning of the month. I'd recommend Seattle Clouds or Buzztouch. Both are user friendly and affordable. I am by no means an authority on this subject, just stating what I have used successfully as a newb. =D Best of luck to ya. |

And that Chris and I should not be in mobile (since he's doing it on a regular base) is very BOLD... Especially for a "business" claiming the following: "BrandMobile isn't simply a mobile marketing firm, we're a mobile technology powerhouse. We're proud to say, our engineering team consists of some of the most talented mobile and social media development experts in the world. - BrandMobile, Inc." With a site being up in the air since days and have a facebookpage since since...days as well LMAO haha Yeah yeah, Blabla 1 FKA Used Cars Salesman Who are you kidding LOL

What do you know about making money on the mobile app markets? My idea isn't to make the most functional app in the world, as you can clearly tell Seattle Clouds offers dozens of customization options but I do not use these features. I am not selling thousand dollar apps, I am selling $1+ apps thousands of times. So now instead of being a scammer, I'm just somebody that makes crappy apps? Where are you going with this? I told you I make hundreds of dollars every month on this account and its my lowest selling account, get the picture? |

Oh...and if I were YOU APP29, I would do something about the so called "press release qoutes" on your TWITTER account @BrandMobile so they point to the claims instead of your 36 likes FACEBOOK PAGE. Just a suggestion from a seasoned marketeer to a "marketing guru" wannebe Hope it didn't hurt falling thru the basket...? |

You know what is so awesome about this? Most warriors wouldn't know where to start with your so called 'alien technology' applications. I show people how to deliver simple applications that make hundreds of dollars a month. I think you are proving my point clear? Do you see how easy this is people? |

So you're selling a service that cost $500 startup and $35 per month on a website theme that cost $42 and wasn't modified at all? Thanks WooThemes for allowing people to start million dollar launches on unbranded Wordpress websites. Here is a link to my most recent 10k project, WAAD worldautoimmunearthritisday.org And good luck in finding a solution ZNICK, I was trying to help you and in turn was called a scammer. My question is this though regarding your scam...and yes I'm still not entirely convinced...I tooled at the stats on ALL your apps and they show 20 downloads each since you launched them...and you know I'm being nice!!! So at $1.50 (again being nice rounding up the numbers) how do you get $500 per day????? You made under $500 from months ago when you launched them!!!!!! Dude, really???? Just stop and get out. You were probably a web marketer before, you should stick to scamming them.

No, just from another "claimer" like yourself. brandmobile is even worse... And DONT let me proof it, for YOU WILL NOT BE A HAPPY CAMPER then... Just stop trying to get newbies paying just because they lack the knowledge at this time. If you wanne SELL go for a WSO or better yet....do something about your SEO and start promoting your website instead of trying to sucker people in who are still in the dark. If you wanne help newbies in creating an app at NO cost and even more important how to sell them and eduacate them on which target market they should use so they DONT WASTE valuable time and money to find out... Your happy to do so! But don't offer solutions where its not NEEDED just to get money in YOUR pocket. With that I mean that local business dont buy apps quickly. Better build an App where they can be a part of like Groupon alikes! And you know exactly what I mean since you have only 8 apps in your name in the stores And no other clients to show for! So thank you for this educational post showing HOW HARD IT REALLY IS to SELL APPS to LOCAL BUSINESSES 8 apps in the "claimed years since what...2004? And with < 50 downloads it shows also that bringing an App for search related marketing as a tool is NOT THE BEST IDEA YET. For that we have Google! Damn, my worst website pulls in more visitors a day then all your apps have in downloads :p Not to mention the POOR ratings your apps get... Men, give it up PLEASE and stop boring people with your USED CARS SALES TRICKS!!! And go back to selling USED CARS... Or if you really wanne go on with Apps let me give you a LITTLE TIP. Get a good idea for an App, put it on the market place and make sure you can let a lot of different local businesses use it. Like a GROUPON or something like that! Make sure you promote the App instead of the TOOL and you're on your way. That way, you only need to build ONE app and benefit from a lot of customers. Take it or leave it and do as you please, but DONT come with MORE BS. For all people who dont know to much about apps, try a Google search first. And start thinking what you want to do before you buy any TOOL! |

But to get back to the original point of the thread: I've used gomobile (but kinda expensive), like it for the 'learning' side, that's why I joined it. It's basically a private label version of biznessapps though, the main difference being, biznessapps doesn't charge you every time you need an app compiled. (Gomobile does). Gomobile and biznessapps seems to be mainly geared towards offline businesses, not regular online stuff. (i.e., you can't create a game with it) I've also got buzztouch but still learning it. (Not really a programmer so I haven't spent a lot of time on it) - I do like it though from what I've seen. Heard of others, most though are just glorified websites turned apps (links to the website through the app icon, not a true app). Alternately, I agree - many charge higher to take the ads off. There was another one I looked at but haven't tried - its called Appcelerator. Hope this helps a little.

I wish I could answer the question fully, but I cannot. I can however vouch for Seattle Clouds. It's a great program that allows you to build your first 5 apps for free without having to commit any money. It's great for a newb that wants to get their feet wet without risking a huge investment, and is also great for a pro that wants to make a business out of it. Personally I spent 2 days making apps with Seattle Clouds and I have been averaging about $100 per month residual for 3 months now. Not a ton of money, but it's great considering the amount of time I spent! If only I didn't have a full time career, I'd love to spend more time making apps. The potential is insane.

I am a total newbie to mobile app development and/or marketing and was hoping to get an unbiased opinion/s on Skybuilder, which just came out, so it may be too early to ask. Thanks in advance for any useful information. Seattle Cloud sounds very promising and I will check it out too. Not sure about IBA?
