I'm considering creating Android and iOS apps as an additional way to access my site, seekBromance.com. (The site serves an audience of (mostly) straight guys who are simply looking for platonic guy friends who share common interests. Think about the movie I Love You, Man and you’ve got the idea.) The site has a freemium business model, in which members must pay for a subscription to contact one another directly, but can browse and search for free. Clearly the users who log on to a mobile version will spend more time browsing and searching, but my guess is that they would be unlikely to buy a subscription from their phones. I'm also guessing that they wouldn't bother with a phone keyboard to message other site members. With all this in mind, I'm interested in your opinion of the bottom line for adding a slimmed-down user interface to a site like this. Is it worth the time and expense to produce two new apps? |

I think you answered your own question! Since an App is used on a phone as well...same concerns as why you think a mobile site won't give ROI. on the other hand, sites like facebook and twitter get mobilized to. So there must be some ROI. You could monitize a SMS function between users. Just a thought A mobile website would do jsut as fine for that1 |
