Anyone marketing mobile loyalty/rewards programs?

I have come across a couple of mobile loyalty/rewards programs with opportunity for resellers. I like the concept and the platform and because it seems to be something new to offer small businesses rather than SMS, mobile sites, etc... and it is a recurring income.

The hard part is convincing some clients that it will have a good ROI and others don't want the hassle (albeit small) of running a rewards program.

I don't see much discussion about it on here which makes me think it is something new and not saturated but I also wonder if it is a viable venture. So, has anyone tried do anything like this or what are your thoughts on it?

I also believe that loyalty/rewards programs are a great way for local businesses to increase their ROI. Any business that has repeat customers is a prime candidate so the list is almost endless.

I sell SMS managed services and we just added this feature to our platform recently. Customers can acquire "points" based on purchases and then get free or discounted offers based on point levels attained.

Think of those old buy 10 get 1 free punchcards you had to carry in your wallet. Well not anymore because the beauty is that everything is stored on the customers mobile phone in an "electronic wallet" for convenience and future savings which helps create that loyalty.

Now we are able to combine SMS and our mobile image coupons with this rewards program to really supercharge the system for our clients. We are already getting double digit redemption rates on our mobile coupons and now I believe we will get even more redemptions but also couple that with more repeat business with these loyal customers.
